Although UFC President Dana White recently confirmed the fight, it appears that Robbie Lawler vs. Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone is already scratched from the UFC 205 plans.
According to a report by MMAFighting.com, former UFC Welterweight Champion Lawler decided he needed more time before stepping back into the Octagon after being knocked out in his last fight by current UFC 170-pound champion Tyron Woodley.
UFC 205 is scheduled to be the debut show for the promotion at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
The event is set to take place on Saturday, November 12, 2016.

Here’s a new one.
C.B. Dollaway vs. Francimar Barroso has been pulled from tonight’s UFC 203 pay-per-view due to Dollaway suffering an injury while riding a faulty elevator in Cleveland, Ohio.
It has been confirmed that Dollaway was injured when an elevator malfunctioned while he was on it. The severity of Dollaway’s injury, however, is unknown.
UFC released the following statement on Dollaway being forced off the show tonight:
UFC announced that CB Dollaway has had to withdraw from his scheduled bout at UFC 203 due to an injury he suffered last night as a result of an elevator accident at a hotel in Cleveland.
UFC officials have been in communication with hotel management, and the hotel is currently evaluating and investigating the issues surrounding the incident.
Other UFC fighters, including Urijah Faber, Fabricio Werdum, Yancy Medeiros, Brad Tavares, all of whom are scheduled for UFC 203 tonight, were also stuck on a faulty elevator on Friday, however none were injured.

According to Marcos Rogerio de Lima, he’ll be part of UFC 205 this November against New York’s own Gian Villante.
The event takes place November 12 from Madison Square Garden in New York City. The state lifted the MMA ban earlier this year, clearing the way for the Octagon to set up shop there.
De Lima (14-3-1) has won three of his four UFC fights including a recent first round submission of Clint Hester. The Brazilian was a semifinalist in the heavyweight division on The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil 3.
Villante (14-7), meanwhile, sports a 4-4 record inside the Octagon. One of his training partners, Chris Weidman, is expected to meet Yoel Romero in a middleweight title-eliminator on the card. He has alternated wins and losses over his last four, losing to Ilir Latifi in March.

Former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir recently discussed his opinion on CM Punk fighting inside the Octagon.
And let’s just say that Mir isn’t really digging it.
“I’m gonna be honest, it pisses me off. I don’t like it. I’m trying to be impartial and not be a dick but the more we talk about this the more I’m getting angry at the situation because it’s (expletive),” Mir said on his podcast, Phone Booth Fighting (thanks to MMA Fighting for transcribing). “This is not a legitimate fight. This is not a legitimate UFC fight. We have these kind of fights in boxing, they have those celebrity matchups where it’s a name guy that shouldn’t be in there getting in there with somebody that has a novelty to it and people might turn it on for the novelty act behind it but you wouldn’t have it on the undercard of a (Floyd) Mayweather fight. They wouldn’t put those two together and the fact that we are putting that on there doesn’t sit well with me.
“We want to be in New York and we want to be legitimate and we want to be even with boxing and have that kind of credibility, and boxing wouldn’t do this. I mean, they do do this but they don’t put it on the same card with their championship fights.”
Mir knows something about welcoming former pro wrestlers to the Octagon, as he fought Brock Lesnar in Lesnar’s second-ever MMA bout and first with the UFC. Mir won that contest with a kneebar submission, though he was defeated in the rematch.
Punk faces Mickey Gall Saturday night at UFC 203. The former WWE champion will be competing in MMA for the very first time.

While helpful for the fighters, the early weigh-ins have caused some trouble for officials.
