His opponent, BJ Penn did say “he does always show up to the fight… so, I guess we don’t have to worry about that stuff.” Hmmm… Maybe Carlos Condit should be placed on standby, just in case.

Nick Diaz vs. BJ Penn New Main Event for UFC 137

In a huge F*** YOU to Karma, Nick Diaz was promoted to the main event against BJ Penn at UFC 137. Georges St. Pierre has pulled out of his title defense fight with Carlos Condit.

Nick Diaz was the original title-contender and main event fighter but had been yanked from that role following a series of no-shows for the UFC 137 press tour.

Carlos Condit is now side-lined until St. Pierre is healed and he is able to get his shot at the Welterweight title.

George Roop Says Chad Mendes Will Have to Take Jose Aldo to Planned Parenthood

George Roop gave a rather imagery-filled opinion of Jose Aldo vs. Chad Mendes to MMAWeekly Radio, saying Aldo will have to get an abortion after the fight. The usually polite, yet unexpectedly witty Roop quipped:.

George Roop gave a rather imagery-filled opinion of Jose Aldo vs. Chad Mendes to MMAWeekly Radio, saying Aldo will have to get an abortion after the fight. The usually polite, yet unexpectedly witty Roop quipped:

Mendes in my opinion he’s probably going to take it to (Jose) Aldo. Aldo will probably have to go get an abortion afterwards, but I do think he’ll win the fight.

Chad Mendes is probably going to have to take him to planned parenthood afterwards, but I do think he’ll win that fight.”

I’ll admit I didn’t get this analogy so I called Roop who explained his comments derive from the “lay and pray” wrestling style and that some fighters joke, you’re down there so long you impregnate your opponent. Now that I get it, that’s pretty funny. Roop added in the interview with MMAWeekly that Aldo’s cardio is his biggest weakness which was exposed by Mark Hominick.

George Roop himself faces a tough opponent in a week and a half at UFC 137 in his main card bout against former Sengoku Featherweight Champion, Hatsu Hioki who will be making his UFC debut. Hioki is currently ranked the number # 2 Featherweight by Sherdog and #3 by MMAWeekly.

Dominick Cruz May Be Frankenstein for Halloween (Post Surgical Hand PHOTO)

Because he knows we’re all sick bastards who want to see this, UFC Bantamweight Champion, Dominick Cruz tweeted this pic of his right hand post-surgery and joked:

Cruz “dislocated his middle finger at the knuckle and tore ligaments and tendons” in the first round of his successful UFC on Versus 6 title defense bout against Demetrious Johnson. Cruz told ESPN.com: “It just hurt and felt off. My finger kept popping out of the socket.”

Cruz says the injury is pretty much exact to the left hand injury which forced him out of competition for six months. Cruz explained the great results from his left hand surgery to ESPN:

“After I got the surgery on my left hand the doctor said it would be stronger. And it’s true. It is stronger. He put an extra piece of tendon over the top of the knuckle so it’s braced for impact. He did some voodoo stuff with it that he drilled a hole through the knuckle and tied it so tight that there’s no way for that tendon to lift back up off the bone again. I really feel like it’s stronger than it was in the first place and I won’t have any issues with it anymore.”

Cruz recently had the similar surgery performed on his right hand by the same doctor who is based out of Chicago. While prepping for surgery, the Bantamweight champion had tweeted this picture:

with the caption:

It’s a shame to injure such a useful finger, it’s nice to see “The Dominator”‘ will make a full recovery.
