While many sympathized with Max Rohskopf for wanting out of his fight with Austin Hubbard, Dan Hooker decided to mock him.

Rohskopf stepped in on five days’ notice to take on Hubbard at UFC Vegas 3 last night. However, the formerly unbeaten lightweight was outclassed by Hubbard and following the second round, asked his coach Robert Drysdale to call an end to the fight.

Despite repeated requests, Drysdale refused to listen to Rohskopf and was even prepared to let him continue fighting in the third round. However, Rohskopf didn’t get off his stool as the fight was eventually called off with Hubbard getting the TKO victory.

Hooker Not Impressed By Rohskopf

While he defended his actions, Drysdale has since received plenty of criticism as the debate of when a corner should stop a fight was reignited.

As for Rohskopf, UFC president Dana White notably defended his decision to call an end to the fight. Others like lightweight contender Hooker, however, believe Rohskopf showed he wasn’t a real fighter.

“How do you get into the UFC without realising you’re made of marshmallows? ?

Hooker’s comments naturally didn’t go down well, especially going by just the fan responses alone. And with his fight against Dustin Poirier coming up next week, it looks like many will be hoping “The Diamond” gets the job done.

Shane Burgos has vowed to come back stronger.

Burgos fought Josh Emmett in the co-main event of UFC Vegas 3 on Saturday night in what was a highly-anticipated affair. It certainly lived up to the hype as it was a back-and-forth war with Burgos having some moments of success in the first round with Emmett notably tearing his ACL early on.

However, Emmett fought threw the pain as he managed to land the cleaner shots throughout and even dropped Burgos twice in the third and final round. In the end, all three judges scored it for the Team Alpha Male fighter.

Burgos Has No Excuses

For Burgos, it was a disappointing result as it ended a three-fight winning streak and was also just his second professional defeat. However, he is taking the setback well as he took to Instagram on Sunday.

“Last night didn’t go my way. Even with the devastation of the loss that might have been the most fun I’ve had in a fight. Felt great all week, had a phenomenal camp, i have no excuses. I really wish we could have had two more rounds but is what it is. Thank u all for the love and support and hats off to @joshemmettufc thank u for that unforgettable war. Big shout out to the @ufc and @danawhite for keeping the ball rolling and giving us the opportunity to fight and provide. Excited to get back to my baby girl and get right back to work! This is all part of God’s plan for my life and I trust in him. I will be back soon..”

Dana White Criticizes Curtis Blaydes’ Performance: ‘He Talked A Lot Of Sh*t Coming In’

Blaydes White

UFC president Dana White was not impressed with the performance of Curtis Blaydes.

Blaydes made it four wins in a row after outpointing Alexander Volkov over five rounds in the UFC Vegas 3 headliner on Saturday night. However, it was mainly a dull affair with Blaydes using his wrestling to dominate but not really cause a lot of significant damage over the first three rounds.

The Chicago native would notably gas out in the championship rounds, but did enough to survive and eventually get the unanimous decision verdict.

Coming into the fight, Blaydes stated that he was going to ragdoll Volkov.

In addition, he also criticized the fighter pay in the UFC. And after those comments, White simply expected a much better performance.

“He won. He talked a lot of sh*t coming in this week. I don’t think he talked the sh*t he talked this week to come in and perform like that, talking about ragdolling people, he’s not getting paid, yada yada, he should be getting the title shot,” White said at the post-fight press conference. “He gassed out at the end of the third round. He made it to the fifth and won the fight. He won.”

White: Blaydes Has The Wrong Attitude

Despite the drab affair, Blaydes certainly has a claim for the next title shot and stated that he was willing to wait for the winner of Stipe Miocic and Daniel Cormier’s trilogy fight in August.

As far as White is concerned though, Francis Ngannou is next in line. And even if he wasn’t, the UFC head honcho believes Blaydes should remain active, especially after his performance tonight.

“First of all, he has two losses to Francis,” White said of a title shot for Blaydes. “How do you give him the title fight over Francis? But yeah, he would be considered next in line.

“With his performance tonight and his cardio? I wouldn’t wait around if I was him. I would stay active, I would stay busy. I like Curtis Blaydes. But Curtis Blaydes has the wrong attitude as far as I’m concerned. I don’t have anything against the kid at all — when you talk sh*t like he talked this week, you better come in and whoop somebody’s ass when you talk sh*t like that. When you talk the sh*t that he talked and perform like he performed tonight, you look stupid.”
