Nassourdine Imavov

Dagestani standout Nassourdine Imavov left The APEX with another big win on his resume, though it didn’t come without a bit of controversy.

From the opening bell, it was clear that Imavov had the advantage on the feet. That much was evident when he nearly finished Dolidze in the opening round with a big right hand and a heap of ground-and-pound strikes.

After a back-and-forth clinch battle in the second and third rounds, things proceeded to heat up in the fourth when Imavov delivered a blatantly illegal head kick to Dolidze who had one hand on the mat, signifying that he was a downed opponent.

As Dolidze attempted to recover, Imavov began arguing with his opponent’s corner, including UFC standout Chris Curtis. That forced referee Herb Dean to step in and threaten to disqualify Imavov.

After a few moments, cooler heads prevailed and Dolidze was ready to continue. Clearly pissed off, Dolidze went for broke, securing his first takedown of the fight.

The fifth round was by far the most competitive with Dolidze doing a little submission hunting in the later moments, but in the end, Imavov survived the final five and scored his fifth win inside the Octagon.

Official Result: Nassourdine Imavov def. Roman Dolidze via majority decision (49-44, 47-47, 48-46)

Renato Moicano

Renato Moicano earned his second-straight victory and 10th overall inside the Octagon following a bloody three-round war with Drew Dober at UFC Vegas 85.

Both fighters came out fast and furious from the get-go, but after Dober managed to land one of his signature left hands, ‘Money’ decided to take things to the ground where he spent the majority of the opening round in top position. The second was much more competitive with Dober holding his own on the canvas and opening up Moicano towards the end of the round with an elbow perfectly placed over the Brazilian’s right eye.

With blood streaming down his face, Moicano once again went to the ground game, dragging Dober to the canvas. Moicano managed to hold the position through the remainder of the fight, securing another big win inside the Octagon.

Official Result: Renato Moicano def. Drew Dober via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28)

Randy Brown blasted his way to back-to-back wins at UFC Vegas 85 with a brutal first-round knockout of Muslim Salikhov.

Following a lackluster, yet winning performance against Wellington Truman in his last outing, ‘Rudeboy’ delivered another finish for the highlight-reel against his Russian opposition. Things were fairly calm in the early going with Salikhov needing a few moments to recover following an accidental eye poke.

As the bout was restarted, it didn’t take long for Brown to find his opening, landing two left hands followed by a looping right hand that sent Salikhov crashing to the canvas. ‘Rudeboy’ dropped another bomb before the referee could step in and call for the stoppage which came just beyond the halfway point of round one.

Official Result: Randy Brown def. Muslim Salikhov via TKO (strikes) at 3:17 of Round 1.

Molly McCann

Liverpudlian fan favorite ‘Meatball’ Molly McCann returned to the Octagon on Saturday night at UFC Vegas 85 looking to snap a two-fight skid. Standing in her way was Romanian standout Diana Belbita who entered the bout desperate for a victory after dropping four of her last six, including a unanimous decision defeat against McCann in October 2019.

McCann came out immediately firing on all cylinders, looking to land a big overhand right. Belbita attempted to use her six-inch reach advantage, but McCann was able to stick and move, quickly landing her power strikes before getting out of range. ‘Meatball’ even broke out her new and improved ground game, putting ‘The Warrior Princess’ on the canvas and immediately taking mount.

With only 30 seconds left in the round, it appeared as though Belbita was going to survive the barrage of elbows that McCann was reigning down. However, ‘Meatball’ had no intention of seeing the second round. McCann snatched Belbita’s arm and locked in an armbar, forcing Belbita to tap out with only one second left on the clock.

Official Result: Molly McCann def. Diana Belbita via submission (armbar) at 4:59 of Round 1.
