Vitor Belfort is in a giving mood this Christmas.

The former UFC light heavyweight champion made a social media post on Christmas Eve responding to claims that Wanderlei Silva wanted to face him again.

And “The Phenom” is willing to make it happen:

“THE TIME IS TICKING #42 @wandfc — i heard that you are asking to fight me again? I hope this is true. I have a Christmas gift for you. — i am willing to give you the most anticipated #rematch that will ever happen in the #mma combat sports history. Do you accept my GIFT ?? If you do, I already suggest the date and the location. What about the end of February, Singapore ?? @onechampionship #ONE is one of the most growing sports organization in the world ?

“Merry Christmas @wandfc @yodchatri @onechampjp @onechampionship let’s give to this amazing fans, this fight on the best platform of combat sports.”

Belfort and Silva first faced each other back at UFC Brazil in October 1998 where the former came out on top with a first-round TKO victory.

Of course, Belfort is currently signed to ONE Championship. Silva, meanwhile, recently signed with Bare Knuckle FC. As it stands, it’s hard to see a fight happen between the two, unless either fighter’s contract allows them to fight for other organizations.

It’s also hard to agree with Belfort’s claim that this is the most anticipated rematch in combat sports history.

Regardless, do you want to see this fight happen?

Former PRIDE and UFC veteran Wanderlei Silva was known for winning his fights in violent fashion. And it looks like his son is following suit.

Thor Silva made his amateur Muay Thai debut in Brazil over the weekend and needed just 30 seconds to pick up the TKO victory with a brutal body kick.

Silva posted the footage of his son’s win on Instagram. You can watch it below:

“I’m always training, and then one day I thought to myself, ‘Why am I training? Oh, I want to fight, I want to be like my father,’” the younger Silva told MMA Fighting in October. “My dad inspired me to fight.”

It’s still early days but Thor looks well on his way to emulating his father. And being trained by Wanderlei’s longtime coach, Andre Dida, Thor has also expressed an interest in venturing into the world of mixed martial arts in the future.

Maybe we will see him compete in the UFC one day.

43-year-old mixed martial arts (MMA) legend Wanderlei Silva recently inked a deal with Bare-Knuckle FC (BKFC).

Silva’s first fight is expected to be announced at the promotion’s next event. However, he already has an idea of who he’d like to fight. Speaking to AG Fight about his recent signing with BKFC, Silva called out fellow former UFC star Vitor Belfort for a bare-knuckle brawl.

“I think I have finally found the perfect stage to settle all my beefs in the sport,” Silva said. “You can only use your hands in bare-knuckle boxing. I sent one of the promoters an audio clip, they’re offering quite the amount, an impressive amount of cash, more than what I’m making.

“I told them I really wanted to fight, but against a particular guy. I would accept if I could face Vitor Belfort. Bare knuckles, five two-minute rounds, only boxing. I want to see if he’s a man or if he’ll run. We found the right place to settle one of the sport’s oldest rivalries. What’s up, Vitor? Are you in or are you going to run?”

That fight likely won’t be happening anytime soon, as Belfort is inked to a deal with ONE Championship. Although he signed with the promotion several months ago, he has yet to have a fight announced as of this writing.

Mixed martial arts (MMA) legend Wanderlei Silva’s fighting days aren’t over just yet. Silva will put down his gloves and instead fight bare-knuckle moving forward.

FanSided reports that the 43-year-old has signed a contract with the Bare-Knuckle FC (BKFC) promotion. No opponent or date for Silva’s BKFC debut has been revealed, but an announcement is expected during their next event. Silva holds an MMA record of 35-14-1 and hasn’t fought since September of last year where he suffered a second-round TKO loss to Quinton “Rampage” Jackson at Bellator 206.

Currently on a two-fight losing streak in MMA, Silva hasn’t tasted victory since his 2013 win over Brian Stann, who he knocked out in the second round of their UFC on Fuel TV meeting. Venturing into bare-knuckle boxing is an odd decision from Silva, considering he recently suggested he’s suffering from several signs of CTE.

“I was in a lecture about concussion and of the 10 symptoms the guy mentioned, I had eight,” Silva said in a recent interview with the Brazilian website PVT (h/t MMA Fighting). “The symptoms would be, for example, mood swings, getting angry very fast, forgetting some things, having difficulty sleeping.”
