Yoel Romero has expressed interest in fighting UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya next, after initial opponent Paulo Costa was forced out with an injury. It looks like the feeling is mutual between Adesanya and Romero, as “Stylebender” claims he’s already prepared for Romero.

Now, Romero has responded to Adesanya’s comments, taking to Instagram, saying, “Give me the f*cking date.” Check it out here:

It certainly looks like Romero and Adesanya are angling for a fight against each other next. However, this seems to have upset Costa, who took to Instagram himself to blast “The Soldier Of God,” who he recently defeated via unanimous decision.

“Look who wants to return from the dead’s world. Oh my goodness, is this man still alive? After that beating? Unbelievable!Hauhau Look man , that funny skinny clown Will be killed by my hands . It a my promise. I ll do this very soon so stay cool and go back to your forced retirement . That’s so funny.”

Costa and Adesanya certainly have their own issues to sort out inside the Octagon, but given Costa will be out for eight months, and Adesanya likely wants to stay active, a fight between “Stylebender” and Romero isn’t completely out of the realm of possibilities.

UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya is more than ready to take on Yoel Romero.

Adesanya became the middleweight king earlier this month following his knockout of Robert Whittaker. His first title defense was expected to be against Paulo Costa, who like him, is undefeated.

However, UFC president Dana White revealed that “The Eraser” would be out of action for eight months after undergoing a bicep surgery. As a result, another middleweight contender will end up facing Adesanya.

Romero seems to be campaigning for that spot as he promptly called out “The Last Stylebender” on social media.

However, Adesanya has no problems with that and has even been preparing for “The Soldier of God” for months according to his Twitter post:

“You guys just finding out shit we been knowing for weeks and plotting on for months! #staywoke #iseeyousoonboi @YoelRomeroMMA,” Adesanya tweeted while posting a screenshot of an old Whatsapp conversation with his coach Eugene Bareman about fighting Romero.

Of course, nothing is official yet when it comes to Romero being Adesanya’s next opponent. For all we know, it could be someone else like the red-hot Jared Cannonier.

However, most fans wouldn’t complain about a potential Adesanya vs. Romero fight.

Former middleweight title challenger Yoel Romero wasted no time in calling out current champion Israel Adesanya.

Adesanya won the middleweight title earlier this month following his knockout victory over Robert Whittaker at UFC 243. The wheels were then in motion for him to face Paulo Costa as the two had some heated words following the fight.

Costa, of course, is undefeated like Adesanya and is coming off a unanimous decision win over Romero back at UFC 241 in August. However, UFC president Dana White recently confirmed that Costa would be out for eight months after undergoing bicep surgery.

He added that there were plenty of contenders in the middleweight division who could step in and Romero feels he deserves the shot. He would call out Adesanya soon after the news broke:

“iseeyousoonboi @stylebender,” he tweeted.

Before his highly-contested loss to Costa, Romero suffered another debatable defeat in his non-title fight (given that he missed weight) with Whittaker last year. Many felt the Cuban had done enough to get the win only for him to lose via split decision.

There are other contenders out there as well like Jared Cannonier who is 3-0 since moving down to the division. We’ll just have to wait and see who the UFC go with.
