It’s hard to believe that as dominant as Cain Velasquez is, he has never once successfully defended the UFC heavyweight belt, despite possessing it on two separate occasions.
The odds are with Velasquez (11-1) changing that tonight against Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva, who Velasquez hammered into pulp for a TKO victory exactly one year ago Sunday.
Silva (18-4) has taken two in a row since that bloody setback, including a stirring knockout of presumptive top contender Alistair Overeem. He’ll have quite a stress test in front of him Saturday night when he attempts to even the score with Velasquez.
