Professional mixed martial arts events are legal throughout the United States, except in New York. Victory Combat Sports is the first company to host a legally sanctioned MMA card in the state, albeit one exclusively featuring amateur fighters.
TV personality and chef Anthony Bourdain attended the event and had a few things to say about the legalization in this video. Bourdain was not the only one to sound off, as many fans and fighters alike are frustrated and growing impatient.
