UFC 162 is almost upon us. At the conclusion of the fight card, the promotion will either have a new middleweight champion or a new record for consecutive title defenses.
The man looking to pull off the upset win, Chris Weidman, has not lost in nine professional bouts. The champion, Anderson Silva, has not lost as a member of the UFC, putting together a record of 16-0, with 10 of those fights being in defense of the UFC crown he won in his second bout with the promotion.
The co-main event will match former UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar against Charles Oliveira in a featherweight contest. It will be Edgar’s first non-title fight since 2009.
The other three fights on the main card will also have an effect on the promotion. The eight fighters competing in these bouts will all be looking to make moves in the top 10 of their respective divisions.
At the conclusion of the fight card, which begins at 7 p.m. ET, several fighters will join UFC president Dana White for the post-fight press conference, which can be viewed live right here.
