Ronda Rousey is the UFC women’s bantamweight champion and, to some people, the best pound-for-pound female fighter on the planet. Usually, she’s pretty witty when it comes to trash talking an opponent, but it seems as though that ability doesn’t translate when discussing the opposite sex.

Rousey got a bit tongue-tied when she met her man-crush, former WWE star CM Punk. Rousey spoke with media (per Fox Sports) on Friday at the UFC 171 weigh-ins about meeting Punk after UFC 170 and her interest in possibly heading to the world of pro wrestling.

“I think the first thing I said to him was ‘I love you,’ which was terrible and not smooth at all,” Rousey said.

Rousey and her roommates—Shayna Baszler, Marina Shafir and Jessamyn Duke—were all in awe of “The Best in the World” upon meeting Punk. The four watch WWE’s ‘Monday Night Raw’ as a weekly ritual, and Rousey and Baszler even recreated some pro wrestling moves in the gym.

“Professionally, who knows?” Rousey said. “Me and all the girls are huge fans. If they were all down to do something, I’d be happy to jump in with them. But I have the most hectic schedule ever with the fights and the movies right now and adding a whole other career on top of that right now is a tall order.”

The women’s champ does indeed have a very busy schedule with filming for the upcoming Entourage movie along with The Athena Project. Rousey will also likely be heavily involved with promoting the upcoming release of The Expendables 3.

However, it wouldn’t be the first time we’ve seen an MMA fighter cross over into the pro wrestling world. Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal, Tito Ortiz and Quinton “Rampage” Jackson immediately come to mind, although their stints were nothing short of disappointing. But hey, that’s what happens when you compete in TNA.

If Rousey wanted to dabble inside the squared circle, she’d arguably be among the best wrestlers of the WWE Diva’s division. A.J. Lee, Natalya and others can put on exciting matches at times, but they’re not Trish Stratus or Lita.

Other athletes who’ve competed in grappling sports have fared well in pro wrestling, as Brock Lesnar and Kurt Angle can attest to. I’m sure there are a few fans who wouldn’t mind seeing Rousey judo toss one of the Bella twins or Eva Marie.

Rousey would also enjoy quite a bit of fans following her from the Octagon to WWE if she were to make appearances in the pro wrestling world.

Rousey is among the most marketable fighters in the game today, and she’s taking full advantage of it. She’s got the looks along with the incredible talent in the cage, both of which have made her very special to the UFC and women’s MMA as a whole.

She may not be the first star to be born under the Zuffa banner, but she could end being the brightest by the time her career is over. Dana White certainly thinks so.
