Renowned coach Duane “Bang” Ludwig is out at Team Alpha Male.
He assumed the head coaching position at the Sacramento-based team in December 2012. Prior to his arrival, Team Alpha Male had many coaches but no single person in charge of everything. Ludwig filled the role admirably and helped lead many Alpha Male members to emphatic wins.
Most notably, their striking improved; the team was always good at wrestling, but Ludwig’s coaching added an extra element to their respective skill sets.
Now, just more than a year later, Ludwig will be leaving the team. Front Row Brian was the first to mention the news on Twitter:
The team issued a press release, seeking qualified candidates to fill the head coaching role in May:
Team Alpha Male, a world renowned Mixed Martial Arts team based out of Sacramento, CA is looking to fill the position of head coach. TAM will be taking applicants from around the world over the next few months and will be looking to fill the position no later than May 24th.
Team Alpha Male’s impressive roster is a who’s who of the UFC’s lighter weight classes: Urijah Faber, Joseph Benavidez, T.J. Dillashaw, Chris Holdsworth and Andre Fili highlight just a few of the Alpha Male fighters who are currently on the UFC’s roster.
In related Team Alpha Male news, Urijah Faber told UFC Tonight that he would like to face nemesis Dominick Cruz at UFC 175 on July 5, but it is currently unknown when Cruz will be able to return to the cage.
