UFC 196 was one of the biggest events in recent MMA history. Conor McGregor has risen to the top of the pack, establishing himself as the biggest draw in the sport. While he had a lightweight title shot pulled out from under him when Rafael Dos Anjos broke his foot, he made sure that the show went on, facing off against Nate Diaz.
The co-main event, despite going largely unnoticed by fans, was no less important. Holly Holm became one of the sport’s breakout stars in 2015 when she defeated Ronda Rousey at UFC 193. That outcome sent the world into a tizzy and altered the future of women’s MMA.
Miesha Tate stepped into Rousey‘s presumed top-contender spot and hasn’t looked back. The lifelong wrestler looked to end the Holm era before it began, and rewrite her legacy by taking the UFC title.
All four of the main-eventers will likely be in attendance at the UFC 196 post-fight press conference to discuss the before, during and after of their fights. You can watch it all live above.
