Superhero fans all over the world are set to hit cinemas in the coming weeks following the release of Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice on Thursday in the U.S. (Friday in the UK).
But followers of the UFC might just have another reason to check out director Zack Snyder’s latest offering.
The plot involves Batman and Superman clashing over the latter’s destruction of Metropolis in the previous Man of Steel movie, with the pair occasionally taking a break to fight some actual bad guys.
And Ben Affleck, who plays the Dark Knight in the upcoming film, has revealed Batman’s fighting style is based on that of UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor.
“He’s a little bit more of a brawler,” Affleck told Reuters (via Jesse Holland of MMA Mania). “You kind of get a feeling, like, physical, visceral slugger-thing. The fights are more, like, smashmouth, kind of UFC-influenced, like, Conor McGregor style.”
Sounds tasty.
