Jason “Mayhem” Miller is having some issues, to say the least. Miller was supposed to fight former UFC fighter and current Venator FC middleweight champ Luke Barnatt on May 21, 2016, in Milan, Italy for the Venator FC promotion. However, he missed weight for the bout on Friday, by 24 pounds. Yes, 24 pounds.
Miller weighed in at 209 pounds for the 185-pound title fight. Barnatt made weight. You can watch Miller weigh-in here:
There was talk of making the title fight a non-title bout, but Venator FC officials decided to make a big change to the card. Miller was pulled from the fight and now he will fight Mattia Schiavolin in a light heavyweight bout at the event. Mayhem will have to weigh-in at 7:00 pm local time. Mayhem can’t be over 207.
Barnatt (10-3) will now battle Stefan Croitoru (6-1-1) in a title fight. Barnatt won the title in December after he submitted Mattia Schiavolin via fourth-round rear-naked choke submission.
Miller (28-9. 1 NC) hasn’t fought, due to legal troubles, since May 2012 against C.B. Dollaway at UFC 146, which he lost.
