When recently asked who he would like to fight next, newly minted UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping expressed interest in some questionable options to say the least. “The Count” threw out two names, specifically noting ageing veteran Dan Henderson and former long-time welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre.

From Bisping’s view, one could see why either of these men would make sense. Henderson scored one of the best knockouts in sport history over Bisping back at UFC 100, a defeat “The Count” clearly wants to avenge, and St. Pierre is one of the biggest draws in promotional history, which in turn would give Bisping a huge fight.

However, neither option makes too much sense from a rankings standpoint. Henderson isn’t ranked inside the top 10 at middleweight, and St. Pierre has been on the sidelines since vacating his title in 2013, although he constantly hints at a potential return. In fact, the Canadian star has apparently expressed interest in fighting Bisping as well.

One man who isn’t happy with these options being discussed is former 185-pound champion Chris Weidman. Weidman was slated to rematch Luke Rockhold for the title at UFC 199, but was forced to withdraw from the bout due to injury, leading Bisping to step up and knock out Rockhold.

Weidman is hoping to receive the next crack at the title, and has blasted Bisping in the media for looking beyond the division’s highest ranked fighters. The ex-champion doesn’t blame St. Pierre, however, as he recently said that GSP is likely looking for an ‘easy’ fight and a belt:

“If it’s true, they see an easy fight, why not go for it and get a belt at the same time? Who wouldn’t want that? I mean, poor Bisping but can you pick one guy in the top 15 that you are sure he can beat? There are definitely guys he can beat but that you would say for sure he would beat? Who is he gonna be a favorite against? Maybe a small favorite [against Henderson].” Weidman said at a Q&A in Canada.

The bad blood definitely seems to be growing between Weidman and Bisping, but who would you realistically like to see “The Count” clash with next?
