Max Holloway has been campaigning for a big fight for quite some time now, after having racked up a nine-fight win streak in the UFC’s featherweight division, and now he’s got it.
The UFC has officially announced that Holloway will clash with former UFC 155-pound champion Anthony ‘Showtime’ Pettis at UFC 206 in a featherweight throw down that is sure to bring the house down:

Pettis (19-5) is coming off of a third round guillotine choke victory over Charles Oliveira in the co-main event of UFC on FOX 21 this past August, making a huge statement in his 145-pound debut inside the Octagon.
‘Showtime’ reigned as the 155-pound champion after winning the title from Benson Henderson at UFC 164 in 2013, but would go on to lose the title against Rafael dos Anjos at UFC 185 in 2015. After suffering two consecutive losses at lightweight to the likes of Eddie Alvarez and Edson Barboza, Pettis made the decision to drop down to 145 pounds and test his hand there.
Holloway (16-3) is riding the amazing momentum of his nine-fight win streak, most recently coming off of his unanimous decision win over Ricardo Lamas at UFC 199 this past June. Interestingly enough Holloway’s last defeat came at the hands of current 145-pound title holder Conor McGregor.
If Holloway is able to continue his winning ways with a potential win over Pettis, it may not be very long before we se the 24-year-old Hawaiian competing for UFC gold.
Holloway and Pettis will meet at UFC 206 live on pay-per-view (PPV) from the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada on December 10, 2016.
