The audio was taken yesterday as part of the UFC 127 media call featuring former UFC champion BJ Penn, his opponent Jon Fitch, and UFC President Dana White.

In this clip, Penn talks about his upcoming Feb. 26 main event bout with Fitch in Australia, bringing in Matt Hughes to help him prepare for the fight, and if he plans on returning to the lightweight division.

“It came about…I was talking with Matt’s (Hughes) boxing trainer Matt Pena. We were talking back and forth, he was talking to me about Fitch and what he likes Fitch to do, I guess he’s studied Fitch over the years and then he asked me if I wanted to meet with him to come and talk to him. I said ‘You know what, why don’t you give me Matt’s number, I think it would be a good idea for Matt to come down and train with me. He gave me Matt’s number and I texted him a few times. I didn’t know what type of response I was gonna get but a few texts later Matt ended up saying ‘You know what I’m in, I’m gonna send you my schedule.’ He sent down his name and his daughters name and they came down to train. I had a great time training with Matt and it really upped my confidence.
