Undefeated women’s flyweight contender Maycee Barber continued her impressive UFC career last night (Fri., Oct. 18, 2019) at UFC on ESPN 6 from inside TD Garden in Boston, Mass., when she brutally stopped game opponent Gillian Robertson via first-round standing TKO (elbow and punches).
Knowing she had a massive advantage over Robertson on the feet Barber took control of this fight from the opening bell and never looked back. Robertson hung in tough for a few minutes before Barber landed a flurry of powerful shots along the cage that put the Canadian in trouble. Barber followed her efforts up with a sharp elbow inside and then more looping hooks to the head that eventually forced the referee’s hand.

With this performance, Barber pushes her undefeated UFC record to 3-0 (8-0 MMA) with all of those Octagon victories coming by way of technical knockout. The 21-year-old has really taken control of her own success in the early going of her UFC career and looks to be the real deal at 125 pounds. The promotion may decide to take their time with “Future” moving forward, but she’s arguably already one win away from a UFC title shot.
