Jessica Andrade made a triumphant move to 125 pounds earlier tonight (Sat., Oct. 17, 2020) at UFC Fight Island 6 live on ESPN+ from inside Flash Forum in Abu Dhabi, U.A.E., when the former UFC women’s strawweight champion ended No. 1 contender Katlyn Chookagian via first-round TKO (body punches)
Chookagian leaned on her length and front kicks to keep Andrade at bay in the early going. Andrade tried to come over the top and was able to land some good punches from top position when the co-main event briefly hit the mat.
Towards the end of the first round Andrade landed a brutal body shot that had Chookagian hurt and forced her to back up across the cage. Andrade followed suit, landed one final shot to the body, and Chookagian was toast.

With this performance, Andrade makes a successful jump to the UFC’s women’s flyweight division and immediately puts her name in the mix for a title shot. She may be a bit small for this weight class, but it will be very interesting to see how the Brazilian’s power holds up against current division champion Valentina Shevchenko.
