Strikeforce: Grand Prix Tournament to Receive New Rule Ahead of Quarterfinals

Prior to the second round of the Strikeforce Grand Prix quarterfinals, which will commence this weekend, Strikeforce officials have enforced a new rule ahead of the tournament.

MMAFighting.com reports that fighters will endure a sudden death round in order to prevent a draw and determine a winner. Marc Ratner, Zuffa’s vice president of regulatory affairs, told the website that all bouts that are declared as a draw will be settled in a fourth and final round. Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker originally planned to have four judges to sit ringside, however that idea obviously appears to be scrapped.
