Rory MacDonald is now dealing with people referring to him as Georges St-Pierre 2.0. After his big win over UFC veteran, Mike Pyle, MacDonald opened a lot of eyes and showed how much potential he really has.
The 22-year old Canadian is starting to jump into a lot of people’s minds and starting to become a top fighter in the welterweight division.
MacDonald is willing to fight anybody in that division to keep this meteoric rise going.
“I’ll fight anyone,” MacDonald told the ESPN UFC Podcast. “A lot of people don’t want to fight Jon Fitch, but I’ll gladly fight him, anybody.”
Yet, for who MacDonald wants to fight the most, it would be the only man to beat him inside the cage.
“I’d really like to rematch Carlos Condit though. [I’d take that fight] 100 per cent,” MacDonald said.
At age 22, MacDonald is young full of potential and has come out in two straight fights and won in dominating fashion. These last couple wins over Pyle and Nate Diaz though haven’t gone to his head.
“I feel like I can beat anyone, that’s my confidence,” MacDonald said. “But I know I’m a young guy, I know I have to stay grounded and improve. There’s still so much to learn, I’m still very young, I still have so much time to evolve.”
If MacDonald was to earn a title shot it could be against his training partner, GSP. What did MacDonald have to say about that future fight?
“I don’t know about any of that. We’re just working together and he’s just helping me like all my other team-mates in training.”
