On Sunday, August 14, the UFC will travel to the Bradley Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, for the fifth installment of their UFC on Versus series. The fight card will be headlined by a welterweight bout between Dan Hardy and Chris Lytle.
Hardy is in the midst of a three-fight losing streak, dropping decision losses to Georges St-Pierre and Anthony Johnson. He also fell to Carlos Condit via a rather spectacular knockout at UFC 120. Lytle contemplated retirement following his last fight, a loss to Brian Ebersole at UFC 127. However, he decided against hanging up his gloves and accepted the fight with Hardy.
Both of these fighters have shown an affinity to stand and bang in the past, and it would be a surprise if they altered their style on Sunday night.
The co-main event of the night could very well have title shot implications in the UFC’s lightweight division as former WEC champion Ben Henderson faces off against Jim Miller. Miller is 20-2 in his MMA career with his only two losses coming to top lightweight fighters Frankie Edgar and Gray Maynard. He is currently in the midst of a seven-fight winning streak. Henderson (13-2) was on a ten-fight winning streak when he fell to Anthony Pettis in December of last year, losing his WEC title in the process. Since then he has gotten back on track, defeating Mark Bocek in his UFC debut.
