Former UFC light heavyweight champ Mauricio ‘Shogun’ Rua is looking for a little revenge on his way to recapturing UFC gold. On Aug. 27 he meets Forrest Griffin in a rematch of their UFC 76 bout back in September of 2007. Griffin earned a third round rear-naked choke submission win in that fight.
“Since we first fought Forrest has evolved a lot as a fighter, especially in his striking, ground work and wrestling. He’s a more mature fighter. You can see his muay-thai, jiu-jitsu and other skills have improved.”
“I’ve been working very hard so I can even the score with Forrest and prove after this fight that I’m a better fighter than he is.”
