The UFC is looking to put together a new season of The Ultimate Fighter that would feature fighters from Australia and England, according to The Daily Telegraph.
The show, which debuted in 2005, had experienced success in North America and now appears to have caught interest overseas.
UFC Managing Director of International Development, Marshall Zelanik, said the idea already has Australian companies looking to capitalize on the idea.
“Right now we have three Australian broadcasters interested and a number of blue chips sponsors willing to write cheques,” Zelanik said.
The Daily Telegraph also reports the show would still be filmed in Las Vegas and would still use the same concept from past seasons.
In regards to coaches, middleweights Michael Bisping and Kyle Noke are possibilities, as well as welterweights Ross Pearson and George Sotiropolous.
If everything falls into place, the UFC could premiere the show as soon as next year.
“I’d like to think that before the end of the year we could be into pre-production. The pieces are certainly coming together,” Zelanik also confirmed.
