Despite former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar having gone through a second bout with diverticulitis, UFC president Dana White says he is feeling fine and that conversations with him are becoming “quite pleasant.”
“I talk to him all the time,” White said after being asked about the former champ’s health problems. “It’s not true, and it actually couldn’t be any further from the truth.”
Lesnar was forced to pull out of a scheduled bout with Junior dos Santos at UFC 131. After taping an entire season of The Ultimate Fighter, Lesnar pulled out of the fight after being diagnosed with diverticulitis for the second time.
“When I talk to this guy, he’s so healthy and feeling so good that he’s actually quite pleasant to talk to these days,” White continued. “I actually like talking to him on the phone. I can have a conversation forever with him on the phone now. It’s like night and day.”
The former WWE superstar hasn’t fought since losing his title to Cain Velasquez at UFC 121 in Oct 2010. He is currently scheduled to face former Strikeforce heavyweight champion Alistair Overeem at UFC 141 on Dec. 30 in Las Vegas.
The outcome of the most anticipated bout of 2011 could determine the next title challenger for the winner of Velasquez vs. dos Santos, which goes down on Nov. 12 on Fox.
