Brock Lesnar and the World Wrestling Entertainment group go way, way back.

Prior to his current stint in the world of mixed martial arts, Lesnar was a highly-touted wrestling prospect, earning the prestigious NCAA Division I All-American title in 2000.

Lesnar wrestled for the prestigious University of Minnesota, and as soon as his collegiate career was over, the North Dakota native joined the WWE ranks, where he eventually became one of the largest draws in the company’s history.

Since his leave from the entertainment entity, Lesnar has journeyed onto a successful career as a professional fighter, earning the UFC heavyweight championship in just his fourth bout.

Having defeated the likes of UFC Hall of Famer Randy Couture and world-ranked opponents in Shane Carwin and Frank Mir, Lesnar has proven that, despite his roots tied into the world of professional wrestling, he is a legitimate athlete of comparable skill.

The Team Death Clutch product recently signed a deal with the WWE in an effort to allow the brand to use his name and likeness, making him a featured star in the upcoming video game dubbed WWE ’12.

Lesnar wasn’t completely sold on the idea until UFC president Dana White gave his blessing, telling TMZ “I love WWE and I have nothing but love for Vince McMahon — I’m totally OK with Brock being in the game.”

This should be interesting.
