UFC president Dana White and MMA fans are pumped for this weekend, and for good reason.
The UFC will feature its first show on Fox, and it will be carried by a single fight between UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez and No. 1 contender Junior dos Santos.
Aside from the action that is anticipated to go down inside the Octagon between two of the most skilled heavyweights in a long time, it’s also a time to introduce MMA to the part of the world who hasn’t had a chance to see it.
Top Rank CEO and boxing promoter Bob Arum has been outspoken on his views on the sport, and the video highlights some of his controversial statements. He refers to MMA as “garbage” and to its competitors as “homosexuals.” He also calls the sport’s fans “skin-head white guys.”
White knows what he is putting out there, and the words of Arum don’t keep him from introducing the sport the way it was meant to be shown on network TV.
With a successful show Saturday night, the UFC can say they have silenced Arum and all the critics.
