According to the official Web site of the UFC, welterweight contenders Thiago “Pitbull” Alves vs. Martin “The Hitman” Kampmann is going to take place at the UFC’s second event on FX.
Both of these fighters haven’t been seen in top form lately, and will be looking to climb the ladder and get back towards the top of the division once again.
Alves will be coming in having gone 2-3 in his last five fights, including decision losses to Georges St-Pierre, Jon Fitch and Rick Story, and victories over John Howard and Papy Abedi.
Kampmann will be coming in having recently broken a two-fight losing streak, both of which were controversial decision losses, one to Jake Shields and one to Diego Sanchez. However, in his last fight, he won a unanimous decision over Story to get back on track.
This is a potential Fight of the Night candidate, as both fighters bring some great striking into the match.
UFC on FX 2 will likely take place on March 4, and will go down on FX, in Sydney, Australia.
No other fights are currently announced for this card.
