Fedor Emelianenko fought last month and beat Jeff Monson for his first win in two years since he knocked out Brett Rogers in his Strikeforce debut.

This fight led to the head of M-1 Global, Vadim Finkelstein, bringing up a possible fight with former UFC heavyweight champion, Cain Velasquez.

Of course UFC president Dana White was quick to shoot Finkelstein’s tweet down and has led all to the possibility that they will never see Fedor put on UFC gloves and enter the Octagon.

Regardless of his past three fight losing streak in Strikeforce that saw him get stopped in the first two rounds twice, Fedor still has a desire to compete against the best the UFC has to offer.

“I compete on an international level, in MMA and Combat Sambo and I represent my country. And I think there can’t be better stimulus,” Fedor said in a translated interview from Sportbox.ru. “It’s about titles. Of course I would like in UFC too, but to this day, all the times we had negotiations with them, possibly they have allergy on me.

“For some reason we can’t make an agreement now. Vadim met them, but for example if we had some agreement in talks, the contract that they sent then were different. But I have a desire to compete in the UFC.”

As for who he would like to fight if he were to return to the UFC, anybody in the top ten is good, but Fedor did mention two names.

“Yes, of course. The first thing you want is to fight against champion. You know, to this day the UFC has gathered almost all the strongest fighters,” said Fedor. “They bought Affliction, Strikeforce, PRIDE, so they took a big part of the strongest fighters, and it happened in the last 2-3 years.

“In the past the UFC’s division was much weaker. Against who I would like to fight? Of course against the top 10 fighters—the higher fighter stands—more interesting is to compete against him. So against the champion, Dos Santos…against Brock Lesnar too.”
