Former King of the Cage Bantamweight Champion Jared “The Jackhammer” Papazian is finally Octagon-bound.
MMA Weekly has learned that only two months removed from an exclusive interview with B/R MMA, Papazian will capitalize on the momentum of a unanimous decision win over Marvin Garcia in a bout that earned him the KOTC Bantamweight Championship belt, and his moment to shine will come at UFC on FX 1 later this month.
His opposition for Jan. 20 is none other than Mike “The Hulk” Easton, who is riding a six-fight winning streak, including wins over John Dodson, Josh Ferguson, Chase Beebe and an October win over Byron Bloodworth, and was slated to face Ken Stone two days ago before Stone withdrew due to injury.
Like Papazian, Easton is a man who prefers to finish fights and a man who built his reputation on the regional circuit before signing with the UFC.
Fans who have not seen Papazian in action will be satisfied to know that the man always goes in for the finish and tries to end fights, but as is evident by his eight decision wins, Papazian is a man that fights nothing but the toughest of the tough regardless of where they’ve fought or about to fight.
Papazian is one to stand and trade, but Bloodworth was finished by Easton by way of TKO due to knees and punches, so fans may be advised to not blink, as either man could earn their “W” at any given moment.
One thing is for certain, though: However this one ends, they will definitely turn it up and look to put on a show for all in attendance
