One of the most exciting weekends in sports is just a few days away, as another amazing UFC card will serve as a lead in to Sunday’s epic Super Bowl rematch between the New York Giants and the New England Patriots.
Headlining Saturday’s UFC 143 will be two of the welterweight division’s most explosive fighters, as former Strikeforce champion Nick Diaz takes on former WEC champion Carlos Condit. This surefire war doesn’t have the same hype as the battle between the Giants and the Pats, but the stakes couldn’t be higher as the winner will be crowned the interim champion and will be guaranteed the next shot at Georges St-Pierre.
Also featured on the card will be the return of Fabricio Werdum to the UFC Octagon. Cut by the promotion after a knockout loss to Junior dos Santos at UFC 90, Werdum will look to get back to his winning ways as he takes on the The Ultimate Fighter: Heavyweights winner Roy Nelson.
With several other great fights lined up for Saturday’s event, this stacked card may not overshadow one of the biggest games of the year, but it will give it a run for its money.
