Strikeforce lightweight champ Gilbert Melendez is in Japan to corner fellow teammate Jake Shields at the UFC 144 Japan event. Melendez offers some thoughts on another teammates recent fight, feeling that Nick Diaz likely felt that he was winning versus Carlos Condit and didn’t need to press the action. Melendez is still hoping Zuffa can find him another opponent for his next fight, saying that he expects a UFC fighter to come to Strikeforce before he would go to the UFC.
