Jon Jones‘ ascension through the light heavyweight division has been unprecedented.
Set to make his first appearance inside the Octagon this year, and his third title defense, there has been much debate regarding Jones’ placement among the pound-for-pound rankings at this stage of his career.
In anticipation for his upcoming title bout against Rashad Evans at UFC 145, the UFC has released a promo featuring some of Jones’ career highlights, including his recent win over Lyoto Machida at UFC 141.
The company appears to be building the event around Jones, but more importantly, attempting to promote the 24-year-old as a marketable fighter, in the absence of UFC champions Anderson Silva and Georges St-Pierre.
The trailer does a good job at hyping Jones as a dominant force in the UFC and convincing fans as to why he is on another level as a fighter entirely.
