Long time MMA fans have been waiting years to see the legendary Fedor Emelianenko don the UFC’s trademarked gloves, a wish that was finally granted this weekend.
Well, sort of.
In a recent video posted by Cagefanatic, the former Pride champion can be seen grappling with a few of his training partners while using the familiar open-fingered gloves emblazoned with the UFC logo.

While the highlight for most fans will be Emelianenko’s choice of training gear, the Russian powerhouse can also be seen in the video training in a variety of areas including weight lifting as well as grappling with jiu-jitsu ace Maxim Leijdekker.
Emelianenko has been making his rounds on the comeback trail since losing three straight fights while fighting under the Strikeforce banner. The legendary heavyweight has gone 2-0 since leaving the promotion, most recently defeating Olympic gold medalist judoka Satoshi Ishii back in December.
The next fight lined up for Emelianenko is set for June 21 at the Ice Palace in St. Petersburg, Russia. While no official opponent has been named yet, former WWE star Bobby Lashley has been speculated to be in consideration for the spot.
