With UFC 153 now officially in the books, Zuffa has kicked off the promotional campaign for its next pay-per-view event, which will be feature a welterweight title fight between Georges St-Pierre and Carlos Condit.
The event, set for the Bell Centre in Montreal, will happen November 17, and will signify St-Pierre’s first action inside the UFC Octagon since April 30, 2011. The longtime welterweight kingpin suffered an ACL injury last December and has been sidelined since.
UFC 154 will also mark the less extensive and much-less hyped return of Condit, who has been patiently waiting for GSP since February. Condit won the right to contest St-Pierre upon his return by defeating Nick Diaz for the division’s interim title earlier this year.
But now Condit‘s wait has ended. And GSP, as the accompanying video makes clear, is back.
While the UFC will actually be putting on a FUEL TV show prior to UFC 154, the anticipation of GSP‘s return has now begun in earnest and will undoubtedly continue to gain momentum as the event draws nearer and nearer.
In fact, the UFC’s promotional video is calling St-Pierre’s comeback the most anticipated return in the organization’s history.
While that is certainly up for debate, there are few people more excited to have the Canadian legend back in action than Dana White and his Zuffa cronies, who have surely missed the attention, ticket sales and pay-per-view buys GSP is known to generate.
So how about it? Does the video make you wish it was November 17 already?
