One of the major gripes about the UFC’s partnership with Fox Sports is the fact that most of the UFC’s programming moved to FUEL TV. The channel was unavailable to a number of cable providers, with Comcast being among them.

That will be a thing of the past, as Fox and Comcast have announced a new programming arrangement. Comcast announced the agreement in a press release on its site.

Comcast Corporation and Fox Networks (FN) announced today that they have reached an agreement for a new distribution pact to deliver Fox Broadcasting’s (FOX) and Fox Television Stations’ (FTS) wide array of entertainment, sports and local news content to Comcast Xfinity TV customers across televisions, computers, smartphones, tablets, gaming consoles and internet-enabled televisions.

The agreement provides video service to nearly 22 million Xfinity TV customers of both live and on demand programming from 20 FTS broadcast stations (13 Fox and 7 MyNet) as well as FX, FX Movie Channel, SPEED, FUEL TV, FOX Soccer, National Geographic Channel, Nat Geo Wild, MundoFox, Fox Deportes, and Fox Business Network.

Obviously, the move is big news for MMA fans as now FUEL TV will become available to a lot of people who were left in the dark. UFC Tonight routinely presents great interviews and provides a number of news stories from each episode, and some of the cards on FUEL TV have been real gems.

The move could also help propel guys up the ranks faster as the exposure level of UFC on FUEL TV cards just bumped way up.

Just think of how much pressure there would be on Anderson Silva to face Chris Weidman if people were made aware of his destruction of Mark Munoz. Instead of Weidman gasping for air against Demian Maia as the lasting memory of most MMA fans of him, it could’ve been the nasty elbow that dropped Munoz.

Or perhaps fans would be aware of the classic showdown between Chan-Sung Jung and Dustin Poirier. The fight was easily one of the best of the year yet remains shrouded in mystery, as the card was shown on FUEL TV.

Also added into the deal for MMA fans and all you nostalgia lovers will be episodes of UFC Unleashed and The Best of Pride Fighting Championships.
