No opponent was revealed, but expect Darren Till to return to the Octagon soon.

Following a successful if unspectacular debut at middleweight against Kelvin Gastelum, former UFC welterweight title challenger Darren Till is still waiting for his next matchup.

Till seemingly hinted on Instagram that he could be fighting on the UFC 248 card on March 7th by posting info on Las Vegas’ average March weather, and he may just get his wish. UFC president Dana White revealed in an interview with TheMacLife that the promotion is aiming for Till to fight either in Las Vegas or in his native England, but an opponent is not yet set in stone.

“We’ve been talking to him and bouncing around with different opponents,” White said. “We’ll have something for him very soon. It’ll either be London or Vegas.”

UFC London is March 21st, with a reported main event of Tyron Woodley against Leon Edwards. When asked if Jack Hermansson would be the opponent, White denied the matchup and gave no further specifics.

“Probably not [Hermansson],” White said. “We’ll see how this thing plays out. [It’ll be against] one of the top guys.”

Till (18-2-1) is coming off the aforementioned split decision over Gastelum at UFC 244, snapping a two-fight losing streak while instantly establishing himself as a middleweight contender.

With new champion Israel Adesanya slated to fight Yoel Romero in his first title defense, Robert Whittaker facing Jared Cannonier at UFC 248, and Jack Hermansson seemingly ruled out, options aren’t exactly plentiful. Paulo Costa is sidelined with injury (otherwise he’d be fighting Adesanya), Till just beat Gastelum, Uriah Hall is fighting Jacare Souza at UFC 149, so that leaves Edmen Shahbazyan as the only top-ten option available.

…Or it’ll just be Jack Hermansson. After all, Dana did say “probably not” and not “definitely not.”

If Donald Cerrone is “stupid” for striking with Conor McGregor in the UFC 246 pay-per-view (PPV) main event this Sat. night (Jan. 18, 2020) in Las Vegas, does that make “Notorious” stupid for grappling with “Cowboy?”

He may not have a choice, as Cerrone has 17 wins by submission and is one of the more crafty grapplers McGregor has faced. That’s why the Irishman’s jiu-jitsu coach, Dillon Danis, is working diligently to prevent a repeat of this.

Or this.

All four of McGregor’s professional losses have come by way of submission but to be fair, Nate Diaz and Khabib Nurmagomedov are two of the very best in the game when it comes to submission fighting, capable of tapping anyone in their respective weight classes.

Then again, it only takes one punch…

Donald Cerrone is undoubtedly in line to make the biggest payday of his mixed martial arts (MMA) career this weekend (Sat. January 18, 2020) when he takes on Conor McGregor.

Cerrone and McGregor will headline UFC 246 on pay-per-view (PPV) from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. According to a recent report, Cerrone is set to make about $2,000,000 for his scrap with the Irishman this weekend. “Cowboy” has seen this number floating around online, and revealed in a recent media scrum that it’s inaccurate, and apparently much more than what he’s actually getting paid for Saturday night. (H/T MMA Junkie)

“Somewhere in the business is a liar, because the money you guys show me making is not the money I’m making,” Cerrone said. “I need to find that person and be like, ‘Where’d you get those numbers? I want them.’”

As for McGregor, the Irishman claims he’s looking at making anywhere up to $80 million for his return to Octagon action this weekend. When Cerrone was asked for his thoughts on the potential mega payday McGregor is looking at, “Cowboy” suggested the Irishman fork some over his way.

“Hey man, (expletive) good for you,” Cerrone said. “Good for you. If you want to kick ‘Cowboy’ a little bit of that, a percentage would be even cooler. Like I said, if that’s a real number? (Expletive) right on, man.

“That means I did something right and he did something right and we’re selling a hell of a fight. Right on, man. Good for you. Throw ‘Cowboy’ a little bit of that grease when you’re done.”

What do you think about Cerrone denying reports that he’s making around $2 million to fight McGregor?

Conor McGregor will return to the Octagon this weekend (Sat. January 18, 2020) to challenge Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone at welterweight.

The pair headline the UFC 246 pay-per-view (PPV) from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. McGregor and Cerrone have established themselves over the years as two fighters who love to stand in the middle of the Octagon and bang. However, many believe that Cerrone could have an easy path to victory by taking the fight to the ground and utilizing his jiu-jitsu, an area in which McGregor has received harsh criticism over the years.

With that being said, McGregor’s training partner and jiu-jitsu ace, Dillon Danis, recently released some footage of he and the Irishman getting some grappling work in. Check out their exchanges below.

Danis is preparing to return to fighting action himself, as he returns to the Bellator cage at Bellator 238 against Kegan Gennrich at a 175-pound catchweight. As for whether or not he’ll be in McGregor’s corner this weekend, that’s looking unlikely given his recent ban.

Do you think McGregor and Cerrone will grapple at UFC 246 this weekend?

There was a lot of speculation regarding the health status of Donald Cerrone recently heading into his fight with Conor McGregor this weekend at UFC 246.

Following the release of the latest UFC Embedded episode on YouTube, it appeared as though Cerrone was limping when he was walking. This caused a ton of speculation within the mixed martial arts (MMA) community online, suggesting Cerrone is trying to hide an injury. During a media scrum recently, Cerrone addressed the injury concerns, assuring fans he’s just fine. (H/T BJPenn.com)

“I knew that was going to come up. People are good. Put a little limp, what if I was walking with a drawl? Or maybe I stepped on a Lego? I got a kid now. No, I’m good. No, I’m fine. I just kicked a pad funny, it was just a funny nothing, you know,” Cerrone said.

Cerrone and McGregor will headline UFC 246 on pay-per-view (PPV) this weekend (Sat. January 18, 2020) in a welterweight scrap from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The bout will be McGregor’s first in over a year, as he last competed in a losing effort to Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 229 in October of 2018. McGregor plans on staying very active in 2020, and seems to be expecting an easy fight against Cerrone Saturday night as well.

What do you think about Cerrone’s response to the injury speculation ahead of fight night this weekend?
