Kayla Harrison returns under the PFL banner as she is slated to fight in the co-main event of the upcoming PFL 15 event.

She will take on Morgan Frier (4-2) in a lightweight bout. Also on tap for this event is Magomed Magomedkerimov (24-5) vs. Chris Curtis (21-5) in the welterweight main event.

A lightweight bout between Sarah Kaufman (21-4, 1 NC) and Roberta Samad (5-1) as well as a welterweight bout between Ray Cooper III (18-6) and John Howard (27-15-1) have been added to the card.

ESPN was first to report the news. The takes place on July 11 at Ocean Casino Resort in Atlantic City, N.J and will air live on ESPN+ and ESPN2. The 2019 PFL postseason playoff qualification and seeding will be set following the July 11 show.

Harrison remained undefeated as a pro-MMA fighter when she picked up a win Larissa Pacheco at PFL 12 by decision. She is the only two-time Olympic gold medalist in the history of U.S. judo. On the flip side, Frier is coming off a first-round submission loss to Kaufman.

Magomedkerimov is the current PFL 2018 champion after winning last season’s tournament and million dollar prize. In the opener of this year’s regular season, he scored a first-round guillotine choke submission of Howard at PFL 12.

Meanwhile, Curtis beat Andre Fialho by third-round TKO at PFL 12. This veteran returned after taking a break with a win on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series last year where he didn’t get a UFC contract.

It looks like former UFC featherweight and lightweight champ Conor McGregor is currently injured.

It’s teased that UFC star Conor McGregor could return to the Octagon this summer, but that date could be pushed back due to the Irishman picking up a hand injury in sparring.

McGregor, the former UFC ‘champ-champ,’ recently posted a photo on social media of his left hand in a cast but, according to ESPN’s Ariel Helwani, ‘the injury isn’t believed to be serious.’

Despite suffering an injury, McGregor seems more to determined than ever to keep pushing himself in the training room, posting on Instagram, “intense training and sparring sessions, I will always push it to the limits. This comes off and I push on! The Proper Don! Nothing will stop me.”

McGregor announced his retirement in March but recently admitted in an interview with Tony Robbins that he used the announcement as a negotiating tactic to update his UFC contract.

‘The Notorious’ last fought at UFC 229, where he was submitted by undefeated lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov in the fourth round of the blockbuster main event at Las Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena.

McGregor has expressed interest in a rematch with Khabib, as well as a rematch with pound-for-pound boxing great Floyd Mayweather Jr., who TKO’d the Dubliner in the 10th round of their PPV-smashing boxing match in 2017.

“I believe I would win,” McGregor said of a possible rematch with Floyd. “Actually, there I go again with the fake humbleness — I know I would win.”

Longtime UFC color commentator Joe Rogan has given his take on the state of the career of BJ Penn.

Despite not winning a fight in several years, the Las Vegas-based promotion recently booked him for another fight. In his latest outing, he suffered a decision loss to Clay Guida at the UFC 237 pay-per-view event earlier this month.

Penn decided to drop down to featherweight and suffered losses there as well. He was TKO’d by Frankie Edgar and Yair Rodriguez before losing a majority decision to Dennis Siver in June 2017. Before UFC 237, he suffered a submission loss to Ryan Hall at UFC 232.

Penn captured two titles in different weight divisions during the 2000s. But looking at his fight record, he has gone 1-9-1 since April 2010.

While doing a recent edition of his podcast, “The Joe Rogan Experience,” with former UFC star-turned-comedian Brendan Schaub, Rogan gave his take. According to Rogan, Penn should’ve retired after he lost to Rodriguez.

“When Yair Rodriguez 360 roundhouse kicked him in the face, that should’ve been the end (H/T to MMANews). You saw that and compared to B.J. when B.J. beat Sean Sherk, you’re looking at a severely different fighter.”

One LFA star went for it all and failed badly during a fight that took place at the LFA 67 event.

That fighter is Dakota Bush, who went for a flying drop kick to Jaleel Willis while competing in a lightweight bout. It didn’t go as planned as Willis simply sidestepped Bush, who flew through the air and crashed to the mat. This event took place on Friday night from the Branson Convention Center in Branson, Missouri.

Bush is 6-2 in his pro-MMA career and holds three rear-naked choke submission wins in his past five bouts. This co-headlining bout saw Willis win by unanimous decision.

In the four-man LFA Heavyweight Tournament that served as the main event, Daniel James (9-3-1) scored a TKO victory over Patrick Martin (9-5) with 15 seconds left in the first round.
