Despite this report, Israel Adesanya has his hands full when he faces off against Brad Tavares at The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 27 Finale on July 6, 2018 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Still, that hasn’t stopped the young up-and-coming star from focusing on his next target.

“The Last Stylebender” is hoping to score a showdown against Uriah Hall should he get through Brad and Uriah get past Paulo Costa the next day at UFC 226. That’s because Israel isn’t happy with some alleged smack talk “Prime Time” has been dishing his way.

And since he feels his fight against Tavares will be a breeze, a fight against Hall is very realistic.

“To be honest, Brad is going to be easier than my last fight. In my last fight I was able to read him on the fly, but Brad is a book that I’ve read so many times. It’s a test that I’ve passed many times. I really don’t see that being a tough fight for me,” he told MMA Fighting.

As for Hall, Israel isn’t too impressed with his body of work or his style, likening it someone playing a video game, smashing buttons hoping something connects.

“Uriah Hall, you ever play that game Tekken where you just button bash? I always think that’s what he looks like. He’s just button bashing and hoping something cool will come out of it,” he added, before explaining his the root of his disdain for Hall.

“Someone sent me a few screenshots of some sh*t he was saying on Instagram recently. The guy is using my lines and he’s trying to take my clout. He’s a clout chaser, he’s an Instagram whore. After this fight, if he wins his fight, then I’ll make him famous.”

Adesanya has collected a mint 13-0, 2-0 mark so far in his mixed martial arts (MMA) career, earning comparisons to a young Jon Jones. While he has a very long way to go before he gets near “Bones” level, Israel has looked good so far, but his upcoming test against Tavares is his biggest one yet in MMA.

Anyone digging a potential Adesanya vs Hall showdown later on down the road? Or will the flashy striker’s hype be derailed by Tavares?

Israel Adesanya: Uriah Hall is ‘an Instagram whore’

Israel Adesanya sizes up his chances against top-10 UFC middleweight Brad Tavares, and also rips into Uriah Hall.

Rising middleweight prospect Israel Adesanya has a fight purse that exceeds six-figures when combining his base and win money, and in just his third appearance inside the Octagon, he’ll be set for his first UFC main event.

Adesanya is scheduled for a July 6th showdown with veteran Brad Tavares at The Ultimate Fighter 27 Finale, and a win for “The Last Stylebender” would almost certainly see him break the top-10 in the UFC’s divisional rankings. The 28-year-old is coming off a unanimous decision win over the unranked Marvin Vettori, but in a recent interview with MMA Fighting, he believes Tavares won’t be much of a problem for him.

“I’m not looking past what’s-his-name,” Adesanya said. “Sorry, I had a brain fart — I’m not looking past Brad. They say to never underestimate anyone, but they don’t tell you to overestimate people either, so I’m just going to do me. Each guy is just another person that’s in the way. I have to plot my path to greatness. I don’t just think about the belt, I think past the belt. I’m far beyond all of that.

“To be honest, Brad is going to be easier than my last fight. In my last fight I was able to read him on the fly, but Brad is a book that I’ve read so many times. It’s a test that I’ve passed many times. I really don’t see that being a tough fight for me.”

The flashy, powerful striker certainly isn’t low on confidence, and he has his sights set on facing the winner of Uriah Hall and Paulo Henrique Costa, who will square off at UFC 226 on the day after Adesanya vs. Tavares. It seems as if Adesanya has a bone to pick with Uriah.

“Uriah Hall, you ever play that game Tekken where you just button bash? I always think that’s what he looks like. He’s just button bashing and hoping something cool will come out of it.”

“Someone sent me a few screenshots of some sh-t he was saying on Instagram recently. The guy is using my lines and he’s trying to take my clout. He’s a clout chaser, he’s an Instagram whore. After this fight, if he wins his fight, then I’ll make him famous.”

The Ultimate Fighter 27 Finale airs live on Fox Sports 1, starting at 10 PM ET/7 PM PT.

Sage Northcutt’s UFC Return Is Official

Super Sage is back!

Young UFC welterweight prospect Sage Northcutt’s return to the Octagon has been confirmed.

The UFC took to their official Twitter account to announce that Super Sage will be getting back into the cage for UFC Boise when he takes on Zak Ottow on July 14th:

Northcutt has won back-to-back Octagon appearances against Michel Quinones and Thibault Gouti. This was after suffering the second loss of his mixed martial arts (MMA) career to fellow “Dana White’s Looking For A Fight” prospect Mickey Gall in December of 2016.

The 22-year-old has quite the test in front of him against fellow UFC veteran Zak Ottow. Ottow has won three of his last five fights, the latter being a TKO win over Mike Pyle in the first round at UFC 222 this past February.

His first three fights in the UFC surprisingly went to a split decision, and Ottow was given the nod for two of them. He has proven to be a dangerous grappler, racking up 10 submissions on the ground throughout his career – an area where Northcutt has struggled in the past.

This will certainly be a fun match-up to watch play out from the CenturyLink Arena in Boise, Idaho on July 14th.
