Bigfoot Silva may not have impressed in his UFC debut earlier this year, but he made up for it tonight with a 1st Round technical knockout victory over the undefeated Travis Browne.
Sending Browne to the canvas with an enormous right hand, it only took a few enormous shots from the giant for referee Herb Dean to step in and call a stop to the action.
With only a few fighters anywhere near a title shot, there are lots of options for Silva in terms of future bookings.
Here is a look at five fights for Bigfoot Silva to take next.

The UFC on FX 5 has come and gone, and the fights were certainly exciting. With only three decisions on the entire card, that means an incredible 70 percent of fights ended before the final buzzer.
Awards for the card were valued at $40,000 each and were given away in the standard categories of Fight of the Night, Knockout of the Night and Submission of the Night.
The featherweights took home the Fight of the Night awards after stealing the show on the undercard when strikers Diego Nunes and Bart Palaszewski threw leather for 15 minutes in an exciting affair.
Another candidate for the award was Mike Pierce versus Aaron Simpson. The first round was dominated by Simpson, who rocked his opponent with punches and clinch knees. However, Pierce landed a perfectly timed counter-right in the second round for the knockout.
With two bonuses only inches from their grasp, Pierce and Simpson just barely missed out on the Knockout of the Night award as well.
Ultimate Fighter runner-up Michael Johnson would earn the bonus for his second-round knockout of Danny Castillo from Team Alpha Male. The stoppage came after a short left hand put Castillo down, and a series of right hands on the ground left Castillo lying limp on the canvas.
Three submissions occurred on the card. On the preliminary portion of the card, Darren Uyenoyama made a successful flyweight debut when he secured a rear-naked choke against Phil Harris. Additionally, Jacob Volkmann used the same maneuver on Shane Roller to earn his first Octagon stoppage in nine fights.
Ultimately, the Submission of the Night honors went to Justin Edwards for his slick arm-in guillotine choke that put veteran Josh Neer to sleep.

Now 10 fights into his Zuffa tenure, kickboxer Diego Nunes has been unable to put together any momentum since being brought into the UFC.
In an odd note, the dangerous striker has gone to the scorecards in each of those contests, despite never seeing them in his first 11 fights as a professional.
With a UFC record of 3-2, Nunes hasn’t quite set the world on fire, but his victories over former WEC champion Mike Brown, as well as his victory over Bart Palaszewski this evening make him someone who fans should keep an eye on.

This afternoon, the Target Center in Minneapolis hosted the fighter weigh-ins for UFC on FX 5, which boasts an excellent heavyweight contest as a main event, as well as a title eliminator in the flyweight division.
Typically, this portion of fight preparation goes smoothly. The occasional dehydrated fighter shows up looking weakened, and fighters miss weight from time to time.
Today, something rare happened. Dennis “Superman” Hallman was a full seven pounds overweight and did not step onto the scale. Someone made the decision that a catchweight at 163 pounds, as ThiagoTavares made the announcement that he would not be fighting due to Hallman‘s failure to make weight.
Hallman has a solid background in wrestling and was already expected to have a size advantage going into the bout. Additionally, he is a user of testosterone replacement therapy, which allows him to boost his testosterone levels beyond what his body naturally produces.
Why should Tavares risk the momentum that he has built for himself? Since 2009, the Brazilian has lost only one of his six UFC contests, which includes notable wins over Spencer Fisher and Sam Stout. There is a reason that divisions were instituted.
Weight classes ensure that fighters compete on an even playing field and that their skills will determine the winner. Hallman was actually closer to the 170-pound division than to his lightweight goal. He did not deserve the opportunity to compete.
In my opinion, the league need to make an example of Hallman. This is his second consecutive failure to make weight, he has a history of competing with banned substances and the TRT is still controversial on all levels. His ugly Speedos don’t help his case, either.
I applaud ThiagoTavares for having the courage to decline this fight. He will likely be called a coward by some, but he undoubtedly made the correct decision.

Leading up to the enormous UFC 153 Pay-Per-View in Brazil, the UFC loves to give away free fights from top stars who are on the card. Today, we focus on Minotauro Nogueira.
Minotauro Nogueira is a legend of mixed martial arts. With the PRIDE organization, he was the first man to win the heavyweight championship, and he also was a finalist in the 2004 heavyweight Grand Prix.
With incredible submission skills, Nogueira was able to defeat the cream of the crop, including Mirko Cro Cop, Heath Herring, Dan Henderson, Bob Sapp, SemmySchilt and more. In addition, he would win decisions against top names like Fabricio Werdum, Sergei Kharitonov and Ricco Rodriguez. The only man he had faced and not defeated was none other than FedorEmelianenko.
When the UFC purchased PRIDE, Nogueira was a top star who was thrust into a bout for the interim UFC heavyweight championship in his second fight with the organization. The man standing across the cage from him was former-champion Tim Sylvia, who stands 6’8″ and boasts an incredible reach.
With Sylvia being submitted only twice in his 27 fights prior, would Nogueira be able to use the strongest tool in his game and become the only man in history to win championship gold for both the UFC and PRIDE organizations?

In mixed martial arts, certain phenomena are so enormous that it encapsulates the entire year. 2009 was the year of epic expansion. 2010 was the year of the heavyweights. 2011 was the year of Jon Jones. Regardless of the action that happens inside the cage, there is little question that 2012 will go down as the year of the injury plague.
From top to bottom, nearly every card put on by the UFC has been affected by the bug. Everything from curtain jerkers to main events have fallen to the wayside, and it’s been enough to cancel events and leave fans ripping out their hair.
Here is a look at the 30 biggest fights that have been cancelled in 2012 due to injury.
