After a largely disappointing debut on the FOX network, the UFC gets its second crack at showing up on the national stage with UFC on Fox 2. The highly publicized event is set to take place on Jan. 28 at the United Center in Chicago, with three feature bouts headlining the main card.

All three fights feature talent that cater to mixed martial arts fans, but also boast the star quality to draw in new fans tuning in for the first time.

In the opener, two middleweights on the outside looking in will have the chance to put their names into title conversion as All-American wrestler Chris Wediman squares up against Brazilian jiu-jitsu master Demian Maia.

Next up will be a No. 1 contender bout, as a determined Michael Bisping will look to upset the sport’s most controversial character, Chael Sonnen.

Headlining the broadcast will be a potentially explosive light-heavyweight bout as former champion Rashad Evans goes head-to-head with undefeated phenom Phil Davis.

In this video, I make my picks for the winner of each main card bout. Don’t agree with my picks? By all means, leave your comments below.

As the UFC turns the page into the new year, its pool of talented fighters continues to expand to keep pace with the sport’s growing popularity.

Though veterans of mixed martial arts continue to hold serious stake on Dana White’s roster, younger fighters are also starting to make a lot of noise, unseating some of the household names fight fans have grown to respect.

With current champions Jon Jones and Jose Aldo as their models for success, the new generation is churning out title contenders across all weight classes.

Some of these up-and-comers have enjoyed meteoric rises in their blossoming careers, while others have already suffered setbacks on their path to prominence.

After breaking down the UFC’s collection of emerging warriors, there are seven men that I believe are destined for success in 2012.

There are already some great fights signed for the UFC in the early part of 2012. While many want to see Chael Sonnen take on Anderson Silva, the MMA world will have to wait for that.

The card for UFC Japan appears to be one of the strongest I’ve ever seen. Rampage Jackson, Anthony Pettis and Frankie Edgar are all set to compete.

There are hopes that we will see the long-awaited debut of Gilbert Melendez. It seems Dana White is hard at work to make that MMA dream a reality. However, until those things happen, here are the four best fights already booked for 2012.

At the age of 24, Jon “Bones” Jones has become the youngest champion in UFC history.  Not only did Jones run through the light-heavyweight division, he did it with ease.

With very few contenders left in the light-heavyweight division for Jones to face, the next logical step would be to move up in weight. It only seems that way after Jones ran through opponents Rampage, Shogun and Bader.

Does Jones possess the talent and have what it takes to fight with the big boys?

Bleacher Report contributor Andrew Brining breaks down why Jon Jones should do us all a favor and move up in weight.

It is almost never a good thing when an athlete attempts to make it big on the silver screen. It may just be bad acting, but they tend to seem like they are out of their element.

Sit back and watch as Bleacher Report’s Matt King breaks down some of the most forgettable movie appearances by MMA fighters in recent years.

For our sake, let’s hope they stick to the ring and stay away from delusions of winning an Oscar.
