Remember the guy so proud of his successful title defense against UFC legend, Randy Couture, he wanted to get on top of his wife and drink a Coors? Well, it looks much like the way of the odious giant who toppled off Jack’s Bean-stalk, Brock Lesnar wants to run away and hide. According to Yahoo! Sports Dave Meltzer:

Lesnar reportedly hasn’t talked with anyone from UFC or answered their phone calls since losing the UFC Heavyweight Title to Cain Velasquez last month. Sources also say that Lesnar hasn’t began to prepare for his next UFC fight and hasn’t trained since losing to Velasquez.
It’s said that Lesnar has lost some interest in MMA and has been been re-considering his future in the sport after his loss to Velasquez and the beating he took in the win against Shane Carwin before that.

Oh how the mighty have fallen. It’s hard to think that after Lesnar recovered from his diverticulitis by sheer “miracle” that he would let one loss deter him. We will have to wait and see in 2011 what will happen to Lesnar who has one more fight on his UFC contract, but as the saying goes…”the bigger they are, the harder they fall”. It’s going to take a village or a really nasty threat from Dana White to pick Brock back up.

Todd Duffee 004

Former UFC Heavyweight, Todd Duffee took to his Twitter account to announce his New Year’s Eve showdown against Strikeforce Heavyweight Champion and 2010 K-1 Grand Prix Champion, Alistair Overeem. Duffee tweeted:

Have no plans on NYE? Dream Dynamite 2010: Duffee VS Overeem on HDnet!!!

But as soon as the tweet went out, Duffee quickly took it down. No official word has been released about this match-up, but it would be a great way for Duffee and Overeem to close out their year in MMA, as both have only competed in MMA bouts once this year: Duffee with a round 3 knockout loss to Mike Russo at UFC 114 and Overeem with a 1st round TKO victory over Brett Rogers in Strikeforce last May.

*UPDATE: Todd Duffee pulled out of the proposed Dream Dynamite 2010 New Year’s Eve bout with Alistair Overeem this morning after receiving the contract and feeling the money was not right. He will now face a TUF 10 alum at Titan Fighting Championships on January 29th while Overeem will remain on the Dream NYE card with an opponent yet to be named. Source: Around the Octagon.

*UPDATE #2: Guess the money became right as the fight is now confirmed as reported by MMA Fighting’s Ariel Helwani: here.
