It all goes down tomorrow night (Sat., May 4, 2019) live on DAZN from inside the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, as WBC and WBA middleweight champion Canelo Alvarez (51-1-2, 35 KOs) meets up with IBF middleweight king Daniel Jacobs (35-2, 29 KOs) in the main event of the evening.

But before Canelo tries to win his second-straight fight since inking a monster deal with DAZN late last year, the two middleweights stepped foot on the scale earlier tonight for official weigh ins (complete results here). While fight fans were pleased to see both fighters successfully hit the 160-pound benchmark, they were more interested in the final staredown between Canelo and “Miracle Man,” which quickly turned ugly.

Check out the face off above, courtesy of DAZN, as both middleweight champions got physical during their onstage encounter. You can also listen to Jacobs’ reaction to the scuffle below:

All that’s left to do is fight. Hopefully Canelo and Jacobs saved enough aggression for tomorrow night’s title unification bout.

MMAmania.com will deliver LIVE coverage of Saturday’s main event. The DAZN broadcast (free trial here) begins at 7:30 p.m. ET, with “Canelo vs. Jacobs” kicking off closer to midnight.

Fight fans saw a little bit of everything last night (Sat., April 27, 2019) at UFC on ESPN+ 8 live on ESPN+ from inside BB&T Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, as perennial middleweight contender Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza fell to rising Swedish fighter Jack Hermansson in the main event of the evening (highlights here).

Jack Hermansson rose to the occasion in his first main event bid last night (Sat., April 27, 2019) at UFC on ESPN+ 8 live on ESPN+ from inside BB&T Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, when he defeated Brazilian legend Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza via unanimous decision.

Hermansson rocked Souza in the first and went for a guillotine on the BJJ great. Jacare peeled “Joker” off with the mat and eventually recovered to his feet. Hermansson did more damage in the second as he took Souza down and landed sharp elbows from the top. Souza didn’t offer much defense and fought off his back most of the round.

In the third, Jacare came alive. He pressured Hermansson from the opening bell with power rights and blistering shots to the body. Hermansson started to tire and Souza stole back the fight. Hermansson returned the favor in the fourth, though, with a flurry of combinations that sent Jacare back into the cage. The Swedish contender continued his output as he approached over 200 total strikes landed in the fight by round’s end.

The final frame saw Hermansson keep the pressure on despite leading on the scorecards. Souza tried to pursue the knockout but “Joker” stayed elusive with shifting footwork and good counter punching. Souza provided one last flurry with 30 seconds left only to have Hermansson score a final takedown, which pushed his total to three (the most ever landed on Souza).

Check out Hermansson’s near first-round finish in the above video player and the rest of the fight’s highlights below, both courtesy of UFC/ESPN.

Greg Hardy cashed in on his second co-main event spot earlier tonight (Sat., April 27, 2019) at UFC on ESPN+ 8 live on ESPN+ from inside BB&T Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, when he ended former training partner Dmitrii Smoliakov via first-round TKO (punches).

The former NFL star looked a lot more comfortable in his second Octagon appearance. Hardy was more patient and made every punch count in his pursuit of Smoliakov. The Russian couldn’t stomach much punishment before falling down in the middle of the first. Hardy pounced and landed vicious ground-and-pound for the eventual TKO stoppage.

Check out the highlights above courtesy of UFC/ESPN.

With this performance, Hardy finally displays the punching power that got him into the UFC in the first place. He looked much better just three months removed from his debut so it’ll be interesting to see what he does next.

UFC Ft. Lauderdale Highlights! Teixeira Scores Comeback Submission Over ‘Hulk’

Light heavyweight veteran Glover Teixeira turned back the clock earlier tonight (Sat., April 27, 2019) at UFC on ESPN+ 8 live on ESPN+ from inside BB&T Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, to finish rising contender Ion Cutelaba via second-round submission (rear-naked choke).

Teixeira had to stomach a massive scare early on as Cutelaba blasted him with a huge spinning back fist in the opening round. Cutelaba rushed in and put the pressure on Teixeira but the Brazilian fighter ultimately recovered. In Round 2, Teixeira started to get more aggressive and was able to get Cutelaba to the ground. That’s where he worked his way to full mount, landed big ground-and-pound, and eventually sunk in the rear-naked choke finish when Cutelaba turned over.

Check out the finishing sequence above and the first-round back fist by Cutelaba below, both courtesy of UFC/ESPN.

With this performance, Teixeira locks down his second-straight win after taking out striker Karl Roberson via submission back in January. The 39-year-old veteran also locked down his 10th career finish inside of the Octagon. Following the fight, Teixeira called out former opponent Corey Anderson, who defeated the Brazilian last year via decision. We’ll see if Teixeira gets his wish in 2019.
