We’ve all heard that famous saying of, “Did that just that?”
Well, that one-liner is used often in the sport of mixed martial arts as it’s home to some martial artists who— plain and simple—don’t look like fighters.
Often times, we wonder how a specific fighter has accomplished the things he has over the course of his career as he looks as if he should be fulfilling a career outside of the sport
However, someway or another, these fighters have overcome their appearance and have displayed successful careers.
Even still, these fighters don’t look the part.
So, the following slides display five MMA fighters who don’t look the part.

It’s hard to deny just how successful the sport of mixed martial arts has become over the past several years.
The sport has provided entertainment to fans and viewers in all parts of the world as it displays real-life excitement and thrill.
However, with any good comes the bad.
Over the years in MMA, we’ve also seen some of the worst, most head-shaking performances known to mankind.
For some reason or another, these specific fights lacked the package and had fans screaming for relief or dozing off to sleep.
The following slides display the 10 worst matches in MMA history.

On December 30th, 2011 the Ultimate Fighting Championship will close the doors on an unbelievable year that consisted of some of the greatest fights of all-time.
But, before those doors are shut, one of the most hyped events in MMA history will take place as Brock Lesnar will make his return to the Octagon to take on highly regarded striker, Alistair Overeem.
Overeem, who’s never fought inside the Octagon of the UFC is the favorite leading up to their main event bout in Las Vegas, Nev.
However, as we’ve seen in the past, the favorite doesn’t always come out on top nor does he necessarily deserve to have that label.
A perfect example: Alistair Overeem.
As previously mentioned, Overeem has yet to participate at the highest level of MMA often referred to as the UFC.
While Overeem has certainly earned the right to his thick resume, he’ll have to prove he can be victorious against more than your average Strikeforce opponent.
The biggest component, at least leading up to Overeem’s showdown with Lesnar, will revolve around the takedown.
Can Lesnar take down Overeem or can Overeem stuff the Lesnar takedown?
Many believe the answer of this question will ultimately lead to the winner of their clash on December 30th.
However, it’s unusual that many fans believe that the former Division I wrestler Lesnar won’t be able to place Overeem on his back.
It’s quite possible that Lesnar will be the best wrestler Overeem’s ever had to meet as he’ll certainly look to remain on his feet as long as the fight may last.
The Lesnar critiques which state “Overeem can’t be taken down by Lesnar” have been proven to be false even before their fight begins.
Why?
Because, Overeem has been taken down several times before, against less experienced wrestlers than Lesnar.
Despite a unanimous decision victory over Fabricio Werdum earlier this year, Overeem was taken to the ground.
Overeem has also been placed on his back by Antonio “Rogerio” Nogueira, Mark Hunt and Mauricio “Shogun” Rua.
Therefore, the question of whether or not Lesnar can take Overeem to the ground isn’t really a question at all.
It will happen.
And, when it does happen, the only question that will be present is whether or not Overeem can escape or catch Lesnar as did Frank Mir at UFC 81.
If Overeem can’t escape, he’ll endure vicious elbows, body shots and power punches from Lesnar, ultimately resulting in an Overeem defeat in his Octagon debut.

After kickboxing and fighting in various organizations of mixed martial arts over the course of his career, Alistair Overeem signed with the Ultimate Fighting Championship earlier this year.
In result, Overeem was immediately thrown in with the wolves of the heavyweight division as he’ll square off with Brock Lesnar at UFC 141.
UFC 141 will take place on December 30th, 2011 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nev. beginning at 7 p.m. PT and 10 p.m. ET.
Overeem is the favorite heading into the main event of the evening at UFC 141 as he holds a significant advantage in the stand-up.
However, Lesnar is a former UFC heavyweight champion and won’t go down as easy.
As expected, Lesnar will enter in on Overeem at some point throughout the first round, looking for the double-leg takedown.
If Lesnar can successfully put Overeem on his back, it’ll be extremely difficult for the UFC newcomer to escape which could ultimately lead to Lesnar’s first win in over a year.
An Overeem loss could bring about many questions for the highly-hyped heavyweight.
Could it mean Overeem was never really that good to begin with?
Or, did the Octagon jitters get to the England-born slugger?
But, the biggest question that could await an Overeem loss would be, who is next?
And, who better to answer that question with than Fedor Emelianenko.
An Overeem loss at UFC 141 will put “The Reem” in an awful familiar situation to that of Fedor and will prove he’s not capable of competing at the highest level of mixed martial arts.
Fedor, who once dominated the sport of MMA for nearly 10 years, has recently fallen from his throne as he’s lost three of his last four fights.
Even in his recent win over Jeff Monson, Fedor wasn’t able to finish his opponent as he was declared victorious via unanimous decision.
Therefore, with two fallen and over-hyped heavyweights, what better than a 265-pound showdown for a winner-leave-town type of fight?
While certainly things would have to fall into place, could we see a Fedor vs. Overeem clash with an Overeem loss at UFC 141?
