On December 30th, 2011 the Ultimate Fighting Championship will take part in what could possibly be one of the biggest nights in mixed martial arts history at UFC 141

UFC 141 will take place in Las Vegas, Nevada at the MGM Grand Garden Arena and host arguably the most anticipated bout of 2011.

Brock Lesnar will make his return to the Octagon to take on UFC newcomer and highly dangerous striker, Alistair Overeem.

After making the transition from Strikeforce, Overeem is now set to make his UFC debut.

Or will he?

The once highly-talked about heavyweight showdown could fade away to nothing within the next 72 hours.

The complications and rumors leading up to the main event of the evening at UFC 141 are shadowed around Overeem’s drug test sanctification’s.

In recent news it has been stated that commission executive director Keith Kizer has had an extremely difficult time in receiving a mandatory drug test from Overeem.

Overeem was stated to have received a notice of the drug test on November 19th but no results were submitted within the usual 48 hour time frame.

And, now with less than three weeks remaining before one of the most hyped fights in UFC history, Overeem’s sample has yet to be seen.

However, Overeem has stated he had submitted a blood test which was acknowledged by the NSAC. But, the sample did not meet the requirements.

Therefore, Overeem claims to have submitted a second sample but he or the NSAC have yet to see the results.

Speculations later arose that Overeem may have been avoiding submitting his results for an unspecified reason.

Overeem responded to these remarks by stating,

“I did not make any efforts to avoid any testing, and furthermore, I have done exactly what I was told to do by my assistants who were being told what to do by Mr. Kizer.”

Overeem was later granted a conditional license but will have to submit another urine sample within 72 hours.

Whether or not Overeem will enter the Octagon on December 30th will depend on the results of this sample.

If Overeem’s drug test comes back clean, he will be cleared to take on Brock Lesnar at UFC 141.

UFC 141 Fight Card: How Brock Lesnar Will Expose Alistair Overeem

On December 30th, the Ultimate Fighting Championship will air it’s last pay-per-view event of 2011 in UFC 141 from Las Vegas, Nev.UFC 141 will take place at the sold-out MGM Grand Garden Arena beginning at 7 p.m. PT and 10 p.m. ET.In the main event of …

On December 30th, the Ultimate Fighting Championship will air it’s last pay-per-view event of 2011 in UFC 141 from Las Vegas, Nev.

UFC 141 will take place at the sold-out MGM Grand Garden Arena beginning at 7 p.m. PT and 10 p.m. ET.

In the main event of the evening and one of the most anticipated fights of all-time, Brock Lesnar will make his return to the Octagon after being off for more than a full year.

Lesnar will take on no other than UFC newcomer, Alistair Overeem, with the winner to move on and face Junior dos Santos for a heavyweight title shot.

And, while many fans are beginning to question Lesnar’s chances against the dangerous striker in Overeem, they shouldn’t.

Lesnar has the skill set and tools to expose Overeem when action begins on December 30th.

However, in order for Lesnar to do so, he’ll have to follow a strategic game plan which could ultimately lead him to the opportunity of regaining his highly desired heavyweight title.

Lesnar will not want to exchange strikes when the opening bell rings as Overeem could finish his opponent in just one swing.

However, Lesnar will want to be the aggressor in order to shed off any cage rust that may be present.

In order to avoid the standup, Lesnar will have to use his exceptional takedown skills that he’s displayed throughout his early career with the UFC.

If, and when, Lesnar finally takes Overeem to the ground, he’ll need to be on close guard as Overeem is a submission artist in his own right.

As Lesnar begins to pound away via vicious strikes and elbows, he’ll need to be careful not to get caught in what would result in a submission victory for Overeem.

The chances of Overeem getting back to his feet with Lesnar on top of him are slim to none.

If Lesnar can establish his grueling ground game, he’ll have no problem exposing Overeem and earning himself another shot at the heavyweight title.

Even having been off for a significant amount of time and facing an opponent the caliber of Overeem, Lesnar has the skills to earn another 265-pound title fight.

At just 24 years of age, Jon “Bones” Jones stepped inside the Octagon at UFC 140 to take on the highly talented and dangerous karate artist, Lyoto Machida.

Jones proved his age to be a nonfactor in regards of experience, as he erased an early advantage for Machida by bouncing back in the second frame.

After a Bones takedown, Machida endured vicious elbows, one which would put a cut in the center of his forehead.

The fight was stopped via doctor checkup but action resumed not too long after.

Jones continued to dominate as he had Machida pinned up against the cage where it appeared he may finish in the clinch.

But, unexpectedly, Jones placed his opponent in a standing guillotine choke, which would lead him to his second straight light heavyweight title defense.

Up until this point in his career, Jones has yet to lose a bout, minus a disqualification loss to Matt Hamill at the Ultimate Fighter Heavyweight Finale.

And while Jones has already become the youngest champion is UFC history, he’s now established something far more greater

Jones has become the greatest light heavyweight of all time.

To date, Jones has defeated the likes of Stephan Bonnar, Ryan Bader, Mauricio “Shogun” Rua, Quinton Rampage Jackson and Lyoto Machida.

While there are more opponents that have yet to meet Jones, it’s clear that Bones’ fighting style is clearly too much to handle.

On top of his variety and well-rounded skills, Jones has displayed an overwhelming 84-inch-plus reach advantage, allowing him to remain back from his opponent in the standup.

Jon Jones is already the greatest light heavyweight of all time.
