Mixed Martial Arts (MMA), more than ever, is a global enterprise. All over the world, from China to Brazil, fighters are combining martial arts techniques in dazzling fashion, introducing the sport to a brand new audience of soon to be rabid fans.
But the best events, today, and perhaps forever, are still the shows promoted by the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). The pioneers of the sport, and the undisputed industry leader since 2005, continue to show the rest of the planet how its done, sometimes live and in person, as the UFC continues its march towards world domination.
All five of the best events of the year were UFC productions. Some, like UFC 148, were destined to be memorable thanks to the epic Chael Sonnen versus Anderson Silva rematch.
