Midway through the calendar, we’ve already seen hundreds of fights across the MMA landscape, from old reliables like the UFC to upstarts like Moosin and organizations trying to get to the next level like Bellator.

During that time, we’ve seen our fair share of clunkers and adrenaline pumpers, but as far as the best goes, one stands out from the crowd.

Chan Sung Jung vs. Leonard Garcia at WEC 48 is the easy pick for the best fight of 2010 so far, and it really isn’t even close. Some people have suggested that the fight deserved to be downgraded because it lacked, shall we say, artistic merit. It wasn’t a technical masterpiece, with both men resorting to bombs-away haymakers at several points, but what it lacked in textbook application, it more than made up for in raw grit and heart.

After a successful U.S. debut earlier in the year, the Moosin promotion is scheduling an Oct. 9 follow-up, which will take place in Chicago, MMA Fighting has learned.

Moosin executive Corey Fischer has confirmed the organization’s intention for a second show, and said the current plans include bringing back previous headliners Tim Sylvia and Mariusz Pudzianowski, in separate fights.

If Moosin gets their way, they’ll come to the Second City with Sylvia fighting 7-foot-2 Korean Hong Man Choi, and five-time “World’s Strongest Man” Pudzianowski taking on popular former EliteXC and UFC star Kimbo Slice in feature bouts.

Just one day after confirming the UFC 119 main event and co-main, UFC 120 also has its top fights set.

Michael Bisping vs. Yoshihiro Akiyama will top the UFC 120 card, UFC President Dana White has confirmed to MMA Fighting, while the previously rumored Dan Hardy vs. Carlos Condit matchup will serve as the co-main event for the evening’s card, which will emanate from London’s 02 Arena on Oct. 16 and air on Spike in the U.S.
