Bantamweight Bout: Jason Reinhardt vs Edwin Figueroa

Lightweight Bout: Jacob Volkmann vs Danny Castillo

I’ve got Volkmann here.

Lightweight Bout: Cole Miller vs T.J. O’Brien

Cole Miller is favored quite heavily. I don’t know if this as much as a guarantee as the odds makers say. I think O’Brien could possibly have value here.

Featherweight bout: Alex Caceres vs Jimy Hettes

Pass

Light Heavyweight Bout: Karlos Vemola vs Ronny Markes

Pass

Middleweight Bout: Kyle Noke vs Ed Herman

I’ve got Ed Herman here. More experience in the cage against tougher competition. He is not favored in this fight.

Bantamweight Bout: Joseph Benavidez vs Eddie Wineland

Benavidez is unstoppable. Of course Wineland always has the punchers chance though with his crisp boxing. I think Benavidez grinds out a decision.

Middleweight Bout: C.B. Dollaway vs Jared Hamman

Hamman is always a tough grinder, but Dollaway has learned how to finish fights. I lean towards Dollaway here as the more aggressive fighter to win a decision.

Main Card

Welterweight Bout: Amir Sadollah vs Duane Ludwig

This should be an awesome fight. I’ll go with Duane Bang Ludwig here.

Lightweight Bout: Charles Oliveira vs Donald Cerrone

Oliveira is that rising star, but he was recently, knee barred by Jim Miller and DQ’d after messing up Nik Lentz badly. Oliveira has all the tools to beat many fighters. Cerrone should put on an entertaining fight. Oliveira is favored in this bout, but I think Cerrone is excellent value here and picking him.

Lightweight Bout: Jim Miller vs Ben Henderson

A great match, but I think Jim Miller is quicker. Miller has also increased his overall octagon control which I think is the reason he has dominated so much in his recent fights. I think Jim Miller will win on points.

Welterweight Bout: Dan Hardy vs Chris Lytle

Hardy has proved to be difficult to finish and Hardy has recently been KTFO by Carlos Condit which was a pretty awesome KO. There is a lot of hype that Hardy is fighting for his job here. I think it will be a solid fight, Lytle carries power, but swings so wildly that it will allow Hardy to connect more than he has in his recent fights. However, I think Lytle will pull this off via a submission.

UFC 133 Predictions

Light Heavyweight bout: Rashad Evans vs Tito Ortiz

Ortiz via decision.

Middleweight bout: Vitor Belfort vs Yoshihiro Akiyama

Belfort in a 3 round war.

Welterweight bout: Dennis Hallman vs Brian Ebersole

Ebersole easily.

Middleweight bout: Jorge Rivera vs Costantinos Philippou

Pass, but I like Rivera

Welterweight bout: Rory MacDonald vs Mike Pyle

Rory MacDonald – I will be shocked if he loses this one.

Preliminary card (televised)

Light Heavyweight bout: Matt Hamill vs Alexander Gustafsson

I’ve got Gustafsson winning this one.

Featherweight bout: Chad Mendes vs Rani Yahya

Chad Mendes will do enough to avoid the submission from Yahya. Yahya’s leg kicks output will be the deciding factor if he is going to beat Mendes though.

Preliminary card (Facebook)

Bantamweight bout: Ivan Menjivar vs Nick Pace

Menjivar

Welterweight bout: Johny Hendricks vs Mike Pierce

Could easily be fight of the night contender. Both fighters are always entertaining. Pierce always puts on an excellent show and is underrated imo. Hendricks is known for his excellent wrestling and power punching. Hendricks is the likely winner here, but I’m going with Pierce.

Featherweight bout: Mike Brown vs Nam Phan

Brown via TKO.

Middleweight bout: Rafael Natal vs Paul Bradley

Natal.

Strikeforce Fedor vs Henderson

Fedor Emelianenko vs Dan Henderson Everyone is going with Hendo here and I’m thinking Fedor gets his shit together and wins this. Mainly because the cardio of both of these fighters past round 2 has been suspect. Secondly, Fedor is coming in about 20lbs heavier. Marloes Coenen (c) vs Miesha Tate I think Tate will […]

Marloes Coenen (c) vs Miesha Tate

I think Tate will be aggressive enough to get a decision.

Robbie Lawler vs Tim Kennedy

Tough call here as Lawler has improved all over the place and still possesses his one touch lights out power. Kennedy is a grinder though with great cardio and excellent wrestling. I like Lawler in this one as his wrestling is good too he just doesn’t get to showcase it much and with Kennedy not being a threat in the striking department edge goes to Lawler. However, Kennedy does have a decent submission game, mostly the RnC.

Paul Daley vs Tyron Woodley

If Daley connects its over. I’m banking on Woodley’s wrestling being waaay too much for Daley to handle. Daley’s ground game has shown to be terrible.

Scott Smith vs Tarec Saffiedine

A step up for Saffiedine who was fighting on the Challengers show not too long ago. Looks like Smith is the dog in this fight by a decent amount. Saffiedine is probably predicted to pick Smith apart.
Screw it I’m going with Smith – I’d rather pull for him winning anyways.

Strikeforce Voelker vs Bowling III

Bobby Voelker vs. Roger Bowling Awesome fight. The first match Voelker won a decision by constantly taking Bowling down. The second match was great until the eye poker/tko. Both fighters are rising stars and I think both could be off the challengers show and moved to the undercard of the big one. This was such […]

Awesome fight. The first match Voelker won a decision by constantly taking Bowling down. The second match was great until the eye poker/tko. Both fighters are rising stars and I think both could be off the challengers show and moved to the undercard of the big one.

This was such and evenly matched fight last time around. Voelker had a tough time taking Bowling down. I’m thinking though this time Voelker gets his plan together and will win.

Sarah Kaufman vs. Liz Carmouche

Kaufman and Carmouche are both tough and have proven it in every fight. They both have lost to the champion Marloes Cohen via submissions. Both of these women are primarly wrestler/GnP fighters, with Carmouche probably having the speed advantage. I’d give the groundwork advantage to Sarah though.

I think Sarah will win this one.

Ovince St. Preux vs. Joe Cason

Ovince is a rising star and has skills that are more based on athleticism right now, however, what he lacks he makes for in strength. I’ve got Preux here.

Lavar Johnson vs. Devin Cole

I got Lavar in this one.

Dream 17

DREAM 17 Fight For Japan Gegard Mousasi vs Hiroshi Izumi I have to go with Mousasi here. However, I’m expecting the odds to be out of hand. DREAM 17 Fight For Japan

Gegard Mousasi vs Hiroshi Izumi

I have to go with Mousasi here. However, I’m expecting the odds to be out of hand. Japanese light heavy and heavyweights tend to be on the smaller side as well as on the poorer side of skill to their foreign counterparts. This probably due to lack of training partners of equal size. This is a showcase fight.

Hiroyuki Takaya vs Kazuyuki Miyata

Takaya

Masakazu Imanari vs Hideo Tokoro

Imanari

Tatsuya Kawajiri vs. Drew Fickett

I’ve got Fickett on the comeback.

Marius Zaromskis vs Eiji Ishikawa

Sakurai is out, late replacement Ishikawa – I’ve got Zaromskis.

Keisuke Fujiwara vs Kenji Osawa

Should be awesome match. Osawa.

Trevor Prangley vs Tatsuya Mizuno

Prangley has more ways to win and likely won’t be beaten down. Odds favor Prangley.

Todd Duffee vs Nick Gaston

Duffee is bigger. I like Gaston – Afrozilla, but Duffee is much taller and will have reach. Cardio will come into play probably.

Shark Fights 17

Frisco, Texas (Shark Fights 17, HDNet) Matt Horwich vs Jake Rosholt Horwich is a zombie. Rosholt is very up and down, while Horwich will always break other fighters down mentally. I like Horwich here as long as the odds don’t get out of hand – can’t see why they would. Ricco Rodriguez vs Karl Knothe […]

Frisco, Texas (Shark Fights 17, HDNet)

Matt Horwich vs Jake Rosholt

Horwich is a zombie. Rosholt is very up and down, while Horwich will always break other fighters down mentally. I like Horwich here as long as the odds don’t get out of hand – can’t see why they would.

Ricco Rodriguez vs Karl Knothe

You don’t see him on the big shows anymore, but Ricco really is still a good fighter on the b-c level stage. I don’t know much about Knothe. I would go with Ricco in a live televised fight he is bound to try harder.

Emanuel Newton vs Ilir Latfi

Minimal information on Latfi. I like Newton here.
