There are two pay-per-views coming up soon, as UFC 152 touches down in Canada and UFC 153 makes its way back to Brazil.
Two of the world’s best fighters will be performing, as Anderson Silva, the pound-for-pound king, meets Stephan Bonnar and light heavyweight champ Jon Jones fights Vitor Belfort.
Further than that, there are a number of great fights that will grace both cards. But, which card is better from top to bottom? Let’s take a look and find out.

The elimination round has passed, and the teams are now picked for this season of The Ultimate Fighter. It looks like the coaches have some solid fighters this season, which could make this season a good one.
Here is a look into the final cast of 16.
Team Carwin
The first pick for Team Carwin was Sam Alvey (19-4 1 NC). A Bellator tournament veteran, Alvey defeated Leo Kuntz via knockout in 47 seconds, effectively putting the whole cast on notice. He owns notable wins over Karl Amoussou and Jason Guida.
Next picked by the team was Bristol Marunde (12-7), a Strikeforce, M-1 and IFL veteran. Marunde got into the house with a modified guillotine win over George Lockhart. It was a tough fight, but the scrappy veteran prevailed and will now start his journey toward the series finale.
Mike Ricci (7-2), who was said to look like an accountant instead of a fighter last night, won by knockout in under two minutes against Jason South. Ricci, a training partner of Georges St. Pierre, is a Bellator veteran whose only losses are against Pat Curran and Daron Cruickshank.
Neil Magny (7-1) was Carwin‘s fourth pick. He won back-and-forth unanimous decision over Frank Camacho last night. He is a disciple of Miguel Torres and receives great training, which explains his well-roundedness.
James Chaney (7-2), who was sporting a new haircut last night, won with an early-first-round triangle choke over Jerel Clark. All seven of Chaney’s wins have come by submission, showing off his flashy grappling ability.
Eddy Ellis (17-15-1 1 NC) is the most experienced fighter on the show. He beat David Michaud with a second-round arm triangle yesterday, effectively earning his way into the house. Through his career, he has stepped into the cage with Pat Healy, Ryan Healy and Spencer Fisher, showing great expertise.
Igor Araujo (22-6 1 NC) is a Greg Jackson student with a top-notch submission game. In the elimination round, he triangle-choked an extremely tough Cortez Coleman. He is probably the top grappler in the house.
The last pick for Team Carwin was Bellator veteran Matt Secor (1-1). Secor defeated Max Griffin with a triangle choke in the sudden-death round, showing his perseverance.
Team Nelson
Team Nelson’s first pick was Dom Waters (5-1). Waters won with an impressive knockout of Kevin Nowaczyk in 32 seconds. “Sho Nuff” has power in his hands and possesses a decent submission game, which will make him one of the most dangerous fighters on the show.
Next pick was Michael Hill (4-0), who won with a quick knockout of Lev Magen. Hill is of Canadian decent and has powerful striking in his arsenal.
A coach on the seventh season of TUF, Cameron Diffley (3-0) is another top grappler in the house. He beat ZanaKamaka with an armbar to earn entry to the house. Anyone who goes on the ground with Diffley risks losing quickly.
The next pick was Colton Smith (3-1), who I am none to happy with right now. He beat Jesse Barrett with a unanimous decision, but in the first round, he went to touch gloves and ducked for a takedown. It was unsportsmanlike, and it was a cheap action to take.
Jon Manley (7-1) was picked next. Manley earned a unanimous nod with a victory over the very tough Ricky Legere, who’s a Strikeforce veteran. Manley is another ground fighter to watch this season.
NicHerron-Webb (12-3) won with an armbar over Tim Ruberg. Herron-Webb has won nine times by submission in his career, which should not be a surprise with last night’s submission.
Joey Rivera (7-1) defeated Strikeforce veteran SaadAwad to get into a house, winning by majority decision. It was one of the “boring” fights that Dana White spoke of when talking to the fighters after the fights.
The last pick of Team Nelson, and the entire show, was Julian Lane (4-0). A finisher in every victory he has had, he beat Diego Bautista by unanimous decision.
Team Carwin: Sam Alvey, Bristol Marunde, Mike Ricci, Neil Magny, James Chaney, Eddie Ellis, Igor Araujo, Matt Secor
Team Nelson: Dom Waters, Michael Hill, Cameron Diffley, Colton Smith, Jon Manley, NicHerron-Webb, Joey Rivera, Julian Lane

For most, you probably remember Johnson from his weight-missing days in the UFC in two different weight classes. Johnson, who spent time in welterweight and briefly at middleweight, is now a light heavyweight looking to re-establish himself.
He made a successful debut recently, knocking out Esteves Jones in just over two rounds. Johnson’s power has obviously transferred from 170 to 185, making him an instant threat.
Rosholt is a tough opponent, especially for a guy that has trouble against wrestlers, traditionally. So, if Johnson is victorious in this fight, should the UFC give him another chance.
Yes, he has a history of missing weight. But, fighting at 205 pounds, 35 pounds above his old weight class of welterweight, gives him a significantly better chance of consistently making weight.
Since his cut from the UFC, he is 2-0. Yes, he missed weight in the first fight, but that was before his move to light heavyweight. He easily beat UFC veteran Dave Branch, which deserves some attention.
He is an exciting striker with sickening power. Many fans are attracted to fighters who can end a fight in one strike. Johnson is one of those guys and still has a number of fans from his UFC days.
Like I said, if he can beat a top-level wrestler like Rosholt, who is a UFC veteran, I think he deserves another chance in the UFC. With a thick muscle set but a new weight class, Johnson has found himself a new home.
Hopefully, he can win his fight and earn his way back into the world’s largest MMA promotion.

The Ultimate Fighter: The Smashes is set to premiere next week, and it looks to be an interesting season. Coached by Ross Pearson and George Sotiropoulos, the season looks to have some solid prospects and talent.
Who are the early favorites in both the lightweight and welterweight divisions? Let’s take an early peak.
Norman Parke (Team UK)
Norman Parke has been a longtime staple of British MMA, but TUFprovides him with an opportunity to break out. The submission artist has taken on tough competition in the past, including TUFveterans Tom Maguire and Ali Maclean (twice).
Parke is a student of Robert Drysdale, who is considered one of the top American jiu-jitsu artists. A total of 12 of his 16 wins have come by submission, which shows his competence as a grappler.
Parke has to be considered one of the favorites in the lightweight bracket, especially with his resume.
Colin Fletcher (Team UK)
Like Norman Parke, Colin Fletcher is a submission artist. He won seven of his eight wins by tapout, which makes him another dangerous fighter on the ground.
“Freakshow” has a scary grappling game and could be a hassle for any fighter on the show. The lightweights need to take notice. Fletcher is a serious threat to win the first ever UK-Australia version of TUF.
Robert Whittaker (Team Australia)
The only Australian I consider an early favorite, Robert Whittaker, has gone unnoticed and underrated for years. Whittaker is 9-2, and has finished all of his opponents by knockout or submission.
Whittaker owns notable wins over fellow castmate Ben Alloway and Australian MMA staples Corey Nelson and Ian Bone. Don’t be surprised if Whittaker finds himself in the finals of the welterweight bracket.
Bola Omoyele (Team UK)
Bola Omoyele may not be a recognizable name now, but the boy has skills. A longtime staple of British MMA, Omoyele has been working with American Top Team to refine his game further.
Omoyele is a great striker. He has finished all of his opponents. With six stoppages in six tries, he has knocked out five and submitted one with strikes.
Omoyele needs to be feared on the feet. That is just one reason why he is an early favorite at 170 pounds.

The middleweight title is on the line in Strikeforce, as Luke Rockhold defends his crown against Lorenz Larkin in November.
Larkin, a former light heavyweight, earned his shot after one fight at middleweight. He earned a unanimous decision win over Robbie Lawler, which was impressive enough to warrant the shot.
Rockhold is coming off a big title win over Tim Kennedy. That was a huge win, but he needs to cement his title reign with another defense over a tough striker in Larkin.
Josh Koscheck is looking for an end-of-the-year return, and it appears that UFC 155 is tickling his fancy. Koscheck was supposed to make an appearance at UFC 151 against Jake Ellenberger, but he was pulled off the card due to injury. As most peopl…
Koscheck was supposed to make an appearance at UFC 151 against Jake Ellenberger, but he was pulled off the card due to injury. As most people now know, that whole card eventually went up in flames.
Should Koscheck return at UFC 155, whom should he face? Let’s take a look at five possible opponents for the former title challenger.
