With an impressive knockout win in the opening bout of last weekends UFC 143 event, welterweight Stephen ‘Wonderboy’ Thompson (6-0) appears to have his second Octagon bout scheduled for April’s UFC 145 event versus Matt ‘The Immortal’ Brown (13-11).

News of the matchup was confirmed by UFC officials on Saturday.

UFC 145: Jones vs. Evans is scheduled to take place on April 21, 2012 at the Philips Arena in Atlanta, Georgia and is headlined by a light heavyweight title bout between champ Jon Jones versus former champ, Rashad Evans.

Thompson, a decorated Karate and Kickboxer champion, debuted with the UFC last weekend in Las Vegas. ‘Wonderboy’ used an impressive head kick to stop opponent Dan Stittgen by knockout at 4:13 of the first round. The win also earned Thompson an extra $65,000 for the “Knockout of the Night” bonus. The win was Thompson’s sixth straight keeping his MMA record perfect.

Brown also competed on the same UFC 143 card, finishing opponent Chris Cope by second round TKO. The win put ‘The Immortal’ at 1-1 in his last two and 2-1 in his last three. The previous loss took place in November of last year against Seth Baczynski and ended when Baczynski was able to finish with a second round guillotine submission.
